I also trimmed the memberlist, so that only the 29 teams are registered.  This way it's easy to contact the team you're looking for.

This is the first time I play.... what happens now? I check the free agents and then what?

Also, why is Okafor FA? I don't see Igoudala. And Kukoc on the 76ers?

Thanks for helping me out!

You need to sign in.

Iggy was traded, kukoc was traded.

No Bobcats, so all their players are FA.

Ok thanks! Forgot to sign in again.  So where do we add the FA's that we are interested in? And how do we trade?
BTW, sorry for all these questions!!

How do you trade? You talk with other GM's, then work something out.

You need to send the NetsGM a list of who you want to sign, and for what.

You're the General Manager of the Clippers. So you get to do all those things a real-NBA GM gets to do.

Clipps, welcome,

TRADING: You can post your "trade block" (trade block = guys you are looking to move, along with a general idea of what you want for them) in the "trade talk" thread. You can also check out other teams' trade blocks there. Check out the Raptors trade block for a good example of one.
Usually you will want to give your offers for trade by PM (private message). This ensures that others will not be able to "top" your offer. You can post your general interest on the thread though.
Once you have a deal worked out, accounting for salary difference and all that, you can post your trade in the "completed trades" thread.
Since you are new to the sim, you might want to wait to see how guys perform in the sim; it can be very different than real life.

FREE AGENCY: Don't post on the big board, send the Nets GM a PM, he is the commish. There are detailed instructions on what you can offer free agents here in league rules: http://phillyarena.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120

Once the season starts you will be able to decide your depth chart and your team strategy. There will be more intructions on that after free agency is complete though.

Unfortunately we're out right now.  You can post in the GM waiting list though to be contacted when one does open up.

Any news yet on the Blazers GM?

Honestly, it would not be fair to just let Telfair go to free agency, if a GM has not take the team on yet...

Without Telfair, the Blazers would have no future at all...

Yes, there is a blazersgm, he's been notified, he just needs to register.

At this point, if he doesn't register and post his decisions in time, it's fair to let telfair go to FA.

And I don't agree about telfair.  Right now he's the Lorenzo Ellis of the league (except, unlike Ellis, he can actually score).  Randolph is still, IMO, their best player.

Telfair has actually been very effective, much more then his abilities show.

He did shoot 43.8% form the field, which is pretty good.  And he still has the A potential, and it has been shown to be a true A potential.  He has gotten better every year, although it seems to be on a downward trend.

Only 5 point guards with B- in or better, and it must be tough to defend, since most PG's likely do not have the best inside defense...
