If team names are so important why not list all of them that a player played for?

what fun is that?  Smile

Like bucksgm, I think people are taking this WAY too seriously.

This is directed towards those that oppose the rule.  But it can be just as well aimed at those who support it.  If team names are so important why not list all of them that a player played for?

They're not so important.  They're just a way to add a little more fun and spice to the league.

We already have a listing of all the teams they played for.  On the player page.

Where would Yao then go ? As a Raptor cause he posted best numbers in 5 seasons with them ?

Or Hornets with whom he won his 1st title.

Or Blazers were he hang up his boots with his 2nd title.

If YES is the answer, then he should go into HOF as a Hornet, Blazer and Raps IMO. And thats impossible.

Wherever the league decides he goes.

I disagree very much that there should be some award (someone previously suggested SSBA dollars).  That would place far too much on something like this.  But I don't get why having them go in as no team is better than having them go in as one team, when there's nothing intrinsically gained

Because it would mimic reality in that a player goes in with a certain team. Not entirely sure about NBA HOF however, but they do in the other sports.

i would also say no. marion had so much success with several teams for example that it is impossible to link him with one team. the same for duncan, hoffa even yao.
It wouldn't prevent acknowledgement of his accomplishments with other teams.

This kind of debate (informed arguments about something like HOF team) is what seperate SSBA discussions from other leagues. I love listening and participating in them - I'd love to hear why Pistons thinks Emeka should go into the Hall as a Net and equally why Mavs thinks so. Players have their identities yes, but they are often tied to the teams with which they played and mainly where they had the most success. Just adds abit to the fun.

I love the idea.
