At this time no GM points or any awards for the team that he goes in as, this is simply to attach a team name to his HOF page. After somebody is inducted, we then run a poll on what team he should go in as (listing every team he played for as an option). The poll will be open for 3 days, and the team with the most votes is the team he will go in on (no % necessary, since he has to go in as one of the teams, and since each player will have a different number of options).
As usual, If 50% or more vote yes, the rule will be implemented. If 50% or more vote no, the idea will be dropped. If neither of these two conditions are met then there will be a discussion on how to improve the rule, and a revised proposal will be submitted incorporating the ideas from the discussion. The poll will be open for 2 days.

I believe this is a terrible idea that is going to create turmoil and leave a sour taste in alot of GM's mouths.
Every team that has ever had a HOF-calibar player believes that player excelled the most with them.
I strongly vote no.

I think it would create debate, not turmoil. If Emeka was voted to go in as a Mav, I don't think I'd lose any sleep over it, and I certainly don't think I'd be upset at MavsGM. And sure, everyone who has one of these players are going think they should go in as their team, but it's going to take more than 1 vote to win.

no. Most HOF'ers did playon multiple teams throughout their career, which you can see in their statistics. Just an information on which teams titles were won would be awesome ...

i would also say no. marion had so much success with several teams for example that it is impossible to link him with one team. the same for duncan, hoffa even yao.

If this rule passes will there be a "who gives a shit" option when voting for teams?

who is going to be responsible for making the case for each team? if the case is to be made by that GM, many GMs have been replaced and also that could turn into a whoever-can-write-the-best-gets-the-player contest.
I really hope this doesnt pass.

wow, talk about taking the team thing way too seriously.
I see no problem with voting on it. make your case if it's important to you. if it's not, don't and just vote.

who is going to be responsible for making the case for each team? Um...nobody? I think we're all intelligent enough to look at a player page, reflect on what happened during that time, and make our own judgements. Like bucksgm, I think people are taking this WAY too seriously. it's not like we're erasing the stats from other teams he played for. We're just adding one more field to the HOF page as a little special for those who had him.

Like bucksgm, I think people are taking this WAY too seriously. This is directed towards those that oppose the rule. But it can be just as well aimed at those who support it. If team names are so important why not list all of them that a player played for?
