Sixers accept.

Its a deal that lets my team escape mediocrity. Except for the MagicGM, nobody was willing to give me an expiring and a 1st for Juan Ward and Donta Smith.

well, Smith and Ward make a LOT of money and not too many teams can afford their salaries in the wake of the lowered hard cap. They're talented, no doubt, but the glory years of overpaying are most likely over ...

but on a sidenote: pick is not pick.

And after watching this league for an extended time I came to the conclusion that any pick below #20 is useless.
There is ZERO players that get stars after #20, like ONE player in every draft that get's a regular starter later, and SEVEN players you have to pay for 4 years that hardly see any minutes. So the chance for failure is 77.7 % there ... not worth the fuzz ...

Well, I was really just looking to dump both those guys. And the 1st rounder was the icing on the cake for me. And who knows, what the future hold? By that time, I might already be ruling the east and the Magic might be a lottery team.  Alcoholic

the thing with smith is that I think he can strive with my inside focus. Dwight has benefitted well from it, so does Andris. I think Ward gives me an upgrade as a backup SG, and his versatility can make me play him at 1 too. overall, I'm happy with this deal. this deal I think benefits both team. I think with the cash system and all, it has helped team's over the cap. and I could care less with my team being over the hard cap coz I have no pick at all, which I really expected; thus the trading of it.

I wouldn't count out the fact that the picks lower than 20 are useless. I think with a deep draft, the pick 20 would be good. and not to mention there are sleepers as well.

there ARE sleepers, as I said.

But experience from the last 10 drafts told us there's a nearly 80% chance you will NOT draft a sleeper but rather a bust.

Of course, everyone expects the NEXT draft to be way way better than anything we ever had. And if not the next, then definitely the NEXT after that, or ...

And don't get me wrong, I do like the deal for the Magic.

Just, losing a pick is not the only penalty you will face.
Not being able to make any trade, resigning or FA pickup anymore will hurt you more than forfaiting the pick.

true, but I could spare my one year of limited moves for the offseason just to improve my chances on winning the title with basically the acquisition of players that are worth more than the MLE.
