I dont like the money that is given for trades. So do I have to start trading if I want money? A bit strange to me.
Everyone here in this league knows that the reason why I got a championship is because I stuck together with the same team and give it time to work. ...

don't worry, some go for the trading $$$ and some for the trophy.

Want to know which is my favourite group?

Ok, Nets and Celtics... you are right. I had not thought it through like that.

So about earning money by posting a depth chart...There are certain GMs in the league(not mentioning any names) who have put "same" as their depth chart for every single sim, other then Sim 1, for something like the last 6 straight seasons. In my opinion, these people should not even be in the league, let alone be rewarded for "posting a depth chart"...

I mean, such high activity it great and all, but there's gotta be a point where we draw the line... Rolling Eyes

I haven't posted anything but same yet this season.  Should I be in the league?

Overgeneralizations like that may be true 20% of the time.  That's not enough to screw up the other 80%.

hmm..i think its a good idea to award somebody for his activity...

im just concerned with contract extentions and taking off one year of the contract...because this would leave the FA with bad players....

when a player has 3 bird year and when you give that extension you will be able to sign him max by then... then this would leave the FA with little talent...

dont get me wrong...i like the idea...but i like to make the contract extenions and reduction stuff more expensive and hard to get...

maybe something like this:

Contract reduction - takes last year(s) off the book
reduce by 1 yr .................... $550
reduce by 2 yrs ................... $750
reduce by 3 yrs ................... $900
reduce by 4 yrs ................... $1100
reduce by 5 yrs ................... $1400

This is how much it costs to extend a player for one year (You can only extend a player for one year):
from 332k to 1.49mio .............. $550
from 1.5mio to 4.99mio ............ $750
from 5.0mio to max ................ $900

something like that... i dont have a problem in spending on loyalty and trade exceptions....what do you guys think?

First of all, if you're going to complain about someone, don't pussy foot around the fact.

Second, if you're talking about the lakers, he hasn't posted every dc for a season yet, so this money doesn't affect him.

Third, some of us in lives are more busy than others.  I've had discussions with lakers (and Pistons) and deemed their activity levels to be justified by personal situations.

Well, first, contract extensions are only for 1 year and can only be done once.  So it's not like it's going to end fa.

Second, what free agents ever enter free agency with less than two bird years as is?  We already have the provision to give 2nd round picks a 3rd year.  Who signs an integral piece of their team to a 1 year deal without already previously having his bird years?

I think you're (quite drastically) overstating the issue.  I think the bigger issue (which has been addressed) was the hard cap.

I completely understand, there's no problem with that. But then the position should belong to someone who can be a more active participant.

In your opinion.  To some people, this is a release.  A diversion from real life.  A way to step away for a few minutes per day.  I'm not going to deny these people (who still alway s reply to my pm's and e-mails) the chance to do this because of my personal ideal of how they should handle their depth charts.

Which, btw, still has little relevance to the current thread.

No, that was to CavsGM.  Your post wasn't up there when I began my reply.
