The New Jersey Nets are over the hard cap. I post this for selfish reasons, since I have their pick next year.

Am away from home, so am not going to check - but am surprised by this....was under the cap when I had Malone, and took on less salary in my deal to move him, and that was my last one of the year. Can't remember if a TPE was used in one of my earlier deals and that amount wasn't removed from my total team salary? Unlike me, strange, but might just be the case...if so, oh well.

If I am over, what happens....I loose my pick in this draft (Knicks pick)? That would be a shame.

Well, don't worry. You are a playoff team even without the Knicks pick. lol

I just manually checked, and am (by my calculations) about 30k under the cap.....

Tom, no one can reply in the playoff thread I don't think....no reply option for me anyway.

Defensive battle with the Sixers, both ways, and am happy to be up going in to game four. Hope to pull it out.

I checked it too and you were below the cap as well.

I had the same problems with FBB back then, not sure why but it kinda adds a "ghost amount" of salary.

You're right, I checked too. I think I remember that you were under the cap before our trade and I think you actually took less salary.

I believe there are times, due to moves permissible under SSBA rules, that the total salary that is listed does not accurately reflect the actual total salary.

Yup,  if player salaries are temporarily changed (as with purchased TPE's) - ya gotta do some fancy footwork to get things balanced. Well, nothing all too fancy....just need to do it.

BTW, Tom.....how come noone can post in the playoff thread?

Now that my Nets have been unceremoniously dumped from the playoffs, I am eager to see the extension offers and see if I can't keep this group together for a long time....either that or make a move or two to get my self into the (sexy!) free agent market.
