ufff, i was so scared after i saw i was 2-2 vs Wolves during regular season, close games, so i made some changes, but i wasnt 100 % sure if it'll work, but it turned out perfect, so we're 3-0.

One of them was Bargnani having problems, so i changed that + some tactic changes.

And Skiles was a big suprise (bingo)....

Game 1 - 31pts 6rebs 6stls

Game 2 - 30 pts, 6 3pts

Game 3 - Not good

but still, he was a real suprise, plus Andrea played much better with different tactics and as a 3rd option.

.....and wow, Skiles and Kerr shooting 3pts over 60 %, thats nice Smile

.....and another WOW at Trey Wootten of 76ers, SF getting 4,9 and 6 blocks in 3 games for a    B    B+    D+    B    C    C player is amazing.

I dont like Warriors leading 3-0 vs Kings tough, they completely destroyed my team in all 4 reg-season games (something like +20-30pts each game).

But it's play-offs, so everything is possible i guess, altough im pesimistic if we clash in rd2, my team just cant find a way to play against them.

on with the rest of round 1

DAY 126: The great MJ (Rockets) gets injured for the next 35 days. Torn hamstring. Pffffh ... !!!
DAY 126: Backup Marques Embry (Magic) only goes down 7 days ...
Rockets lose, Magic win.

Blazers, Warriors, and Pacers sweep. The rest of the series is tied 2-2.

DAY 128: Roy Tarpley (Rockets) joins MJ on the inactive list. Just for 6 days, but still. Consequently the Rockets drop a 1pt decision at home.
All other game 5's go to the home team.

DAY 130: No injuries for a change.
Pistons and Lakers refuse to go down, force a game 7
76ers, Magic (who took 3 straight with a changed lineup), and Spurs (who take care of the remaining Rockets) end it here.

The Hawks, btw, some might say, managed somewhat of a choke job in the decisive game 6:
6:43 remaining in 4th quarter: Hawks 81 - Magic 67
1:38 remaining in 4th quarter: Hawks 93 - Magic 85
1:16 remaining in 4th quarter: Hawks 95 - Magic 88
0:04 remaining in 4th quarter: Magic 98 - Hawks 95

but ... for me thats the most dominant display of scoring i have witnessed in a sim league, ever. Just look what Kevin Johnson did:

1:23 Three-point play by KJ
0:49 KJ gets a defensive rebound and needed 5 seconds for a shot to get the Magic to 93-95 with 0:41 remaining.
0:28 KJ needed 6 seconds for a 3pt shot to get the Magic a 96-95 lead with 0:22 remaining.
0:10 And then KJ needed 6 seconds to get the Magic a 98-95 lead with 0:04 remaining.

Thats a total of 17 seconds going coast to coast and scoring on THREE consecutive posessions in the final minute of a playoff game.
Simply amazing ...
 Hail

READ IT HERE: http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/130-4.txt

DAY 131:
Cavs and Clippers take care of business at home (Lakers lost Cliff Robinson in that one, too)

Round 2 late tonight. Get me DCs !
 Cheers

Well the Nets really gave me quite a scare.

Seriously, I didn't thought I was ever going to win the series. Like I said during the sim 12 thread, I'm really not confident in the series because the Nets were playing on a mean streak lately. I like how they build their team and their commitment to defense. Their team really reminds me of the Pacers. But I don't think that they are just there yet.

What I think was the difference maker in the series was the shear amount of talent my team has compared to his team, since his team is still on their rebuilding process.

Anyway, see you next season NetsGM. I really wish the best for your team. You're quite a tactician and it shows on how your team plays and how it is built. Very Happy

I would love to see a box score for game 7 of round 1...  Really disappointed in the loss...  Nothing against the Cavs, but I really thought I had the better team...

Skiles with 25pts (11-18FG, 3-5 3p), Andrea with 19/11 and 5blks, Ervin with 14/17 5 blks propellered us to round 2.

Now Warriors, against whom we were 0-4 during regular.

I dont know, its PO's, but im really pesimistic, we just dont play good against them, i even believe Warriors will go all the way to the finals and only team stopping them i see in Pacers.

But i hope im wrong and we can advance.

....and btw, wasnt playoffs topic supposed to be discussion hehehe ? i see we're all discussing here under hard cap violation Razz

Your fellas threw down the hammer in games 4-6. Pretty dominant, impressive stuff and too much for my kids to handle. Went with a perimeter offence to counteract your interior D, but didn't really have the horses to make it fly - maybe not an aggressive enough strategy. Probably should have pounded it inside to go right at the big fellas.

Congrats 76'ers, do the East proud.

I would love to see a box score for game 7 of round 1...  Really disappointed in the loss...  Nothing against the Cavs, but I really thought I had the better team...

just check your team schedule page
the box score: http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/131-2.html
the play-by-play file: http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/131-2.txt

now is it more depressing
- the Cavs led 45-21 after the first quarter
- you closed to within 8 just before halftime only to see the Cavs score 6 points in 41 seconds
- you came within 9 again ... only to stay scoreless for the final 4:10 of the 3rd quarter
- you close to 105-106 with 6:11 remaining, then fail to take the lead and let Dallas Comegys steal and block the game finally away from you ?

but good series, really entertaining ...

Difference maker was the Lack of FT's for my team...  hate to lose that way but oh well...  Team is still young and hopefully we can keep the core together...

ROUND 2 has started

check it out ...

Frank Johnson (Cavs) goes down for 30 days with a dislocated knee on DAY134 (a ka game 2)

The Blazers and Warriors play a memorable double-OT game on day 2, ending 143-141 in favor of Portland.
Not only does Bargnani (Blazers) force OT with a 3pt shot at the end of regulation, not only does Kersey (Blazers) convert two FTs with 8 sec remaining in OT to force double OT (Kemp misses a buzzer beater here), the 2nd OT is a masterful display of offensive capabilities:
The two teams score on the final 9 posessions, all in the final minute of the 2nd OT, and the game ends dramatically. After Macy ties the game with a 3pt shot 5 seconds from time, Stevie Kerr of all people doies his biggest MJ impersonation and goes coast to coast for a buzzer beating jumper. Hard to believe, really hard to believe ...

And all 4 series are 2-1 in favor of the higher seed now, thans to a ton of home losses. So these ones are far from over ...
 Cheers

The rest of round 2 will be simmed late tonight or early tomorrow.

well, hate to say it, but Frank Johnson's injury pretty much caused the Cavs Game 2 and 3. I see big changes from the Cavs next sim, shall be interesting to see if my changes turnout to be still in my favor.

I am terribly disappointed that despite being up 1 game in the series, Chuck Person still managed to pull a triple-double. Nick Anderson, bullshit! I say that with love though.

yeah Tom, i was about to say that "hard to believe".

Im happy tough so far, cause my change in tactics and options did a lot for us.

Warriors swept us by 21.5pts difference (105-80, 101-77, 116-93, 93-79)....so making changes for 1st time this season helped a lot i believe, otherwise they would be 3-0 up.

Still i smell Bargnani could do a lot at SF, but i have no adequate PF/C to move him there.

So far i smell 7 game series here, and hopefully home court will be decisive, but from what i saw anything is possible.

Series are amazing, we were nearly 0-2 after two home games, but that crazy 143-141 OT win gaved us wings it seems, and we won in Oakland after trailing 20 at half-time, but 41-31 and 40-25 3rd/4th quarter gave us back home court advantage.

And Skiles is amazing....

36.2mpg  22.3ppg   4.7rpg  3.3apg    2.8spg in 7 games so far....

but whats really amazing is his offense

FG- ?60 %
FT- 75 %
3PT- 65 %

Those numbers are insane, he had 6 great games and one terrible game vs Wolves with only 4 pts, rebs and asts, otherwise his numbers would be "hard to believe"

Damn, Warriors are really really tough for us.
