As good of a scorer as Rosow is I just don't like the idea of building around a "C" defender(especially after his D took a hit in TC)...  Got the lotto pick(currently #7) I was looking for and Montross could turn into an OK role player...

you realize you take on two equally horrible defenders (just without the offense) ... and that the pick could most likely drop out of the top 10 now the Sixers have what they were lacking most: a true go-to scorer.

Well there are two reasons for the deal. First, i'm trying to maximize my available cap space next year. Second of all, Evan Rosow is a kind of guy we need. An efficient scorer. And by efficient, that means high FG% with low TO numbers.

For the Pistons' they got a promising player in Montross, shown by his ratings and A potential. And to seal the deal, we have my 1st rounder this year who is most probably lotto bound.

I think it was a fair deal for both teams.

I don't consider a guy like Montross an asset.  There have been 6347 guys come into the league with C+ B offense that have never amounted to anything.  So it's really just the pick (which I don't expect to be higher than 7th) for Rosow.  Rosow might not be a complete player, and I don't 100% disagree with accepting offers for him, but you won't get a complete player at 7 either.

This trade got messed up...  I just noticed this was supposed to be this years 76ers 1st...  That was the only reason I was gonna do this trade...  That is why you never should have posted yet...

Triple post....   I really don't see how Rosow gets the pick out of the top 10...  I guess I am a bit of a gambler as well as I always think there is a chance this becomes top 3 pick(gotta love the lotto)...  But with my luck my pick will end #4 and the 76ers will be #11...

I didn't see an offer from anyone else...  And that was all I asked for, a lotto 1st...

The sixers gave two weak backups and got a starter capeable of scoring 20+ppg pretty easily (and he's replacing a 9ppg scorer who plays A defense only on occasions)

you HONESTLY believe the Sixers got weaker here?

If you had such a hard-on for a SG that regularly gives up 30-40 point outbursts then maybe you should have sent a better offer...  And just for further reference, Montross was just a contract to make the trade work...

i couldn't offer a pick, as you know, so since that was your main asking price I was out from the get-go
But even if nobody else makes a bid, going for a bad trade isn't the answer either.

btw, in the past 4 sims (didn't look back any further) there was ONE guy scoring 30+ pts against Rosow: Isiah. And i'd say there were 3 more guys getting the better of Evan, MJ, Blue Edwards and Mitch Richmond.
So giving up a 2nd year player that can outplay anyone else just isn't wise IMO. But that's just that, MO ...

btw, in the past 20 seasons (didn't look back any further) there were ZERO championships for the Celtics.  And I'd say there were 28 other GM's I'd rather hear from.  So giving out your unsolicited opinion 4-5 times per posted trade isn't wise IMO, but that's just that, MO...
