beasley is a guy who can play both inside and outside and create his own shot. An above avg. ball handler for his size, he is almost as pure of a scorer as melo is. he can rebound the ball. he will be a nightmare on offense. but i can?t see him defending the PF position in the nba. in the nba almost every PO team has a PF who will dominate beasley on the other side as well. Another big problem imo is that beasley can?t make the right play. as dominant he was in his college year, he often tried to force the shot against double or triple teams instead of passing the ball out and reworking his position for a better shot.

rose is a true leader who can handle the ball with both hands and create for others. he can get inside the lane at will and even finish against bigger players thanks to his creativity. some compare him to paul but he reminds me more of a deron or kidd type of player. his biggest weakness at the moment is that his jump shot is streaky at best. on the defense side he likes to gamble like chirs paul does (both are great help side defensers) but he hasn?t proved to me he can defend quicker guards (at memphis allen often defended the quicker guards).

i believe drafting either beasley or rose will change the gameplan of the bulls. with beasley you get a scoring machine who might have a negative impact on the other young bulls. worst case scenario would be that we have the nuggets of the east.
with rose you get a run and gun type of guard who first tries to get his teammates better shots by driving into the lane. i believe that this will have a great effect on the other bulls players, watching their best player doing it all for the team.
i have to consider that the pg position is one of the toughest to learn in the nba and rose is only 19. but with the bulls current group being so young you can afford to wait 2 years.
with rose being a true leader and team guy, considering that paxson is the gm, i believe rose will the number 1 pick.

from draftexpress.net:
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Michael-Beasley-605/

... He played extremely poorly on the defensive end in particular, which has been his biggest weakness all season long. He at times struggles to maintain his focus on both ends of the floor, losing his concentration and making poor decisions. He contributed very little to his team in the second half, but one poor stretch of basketball obviously doesn?t erase an entire season of fantastic play, so he still looks like the sure-fire #1 pick barring any major surprises ...

... With that said, there is still much concern about his defensive awareness, as even though he?s clearly trying harder, he can still look like a fish out of water here at times. He reminds of Drew Gooden a lot on the defensive end, in that he has the length and athleticism to occasionally make some impact plays, but can often look a little lost or confused, making some questionable decisions and not showing the greatest awareness of what?s going on around him. It?s obviously early in his development, though, and there is much room for improvement, especially if he is going to consistently devote the effort necessary on this end of the floor, and try to focus more with his awareness. Consistently doing these things would take Beasley to the next level as a prospect in the eyes of many, though it?s no sure thing that he does ...

IMO that's not what the young Bulls helps/need, another offensive force commanding shots (you said it, Nuggets East) and "losing focus" easily on defense. The Bulls problems this season wasn't offense, they didn't shoot a whole lot worse than last season's 49-win team (97.3 to 98.8 ppg, .435 to .457 fg%), but on D is where they failed miserably, giving up 100.4 ppg on .453 compared to 93.8 on .435 last season.

So Rose should be the one to go #1.
 Cheers

well offense was a problem without a doubt. they had the worst shooting % of all teams in the nba this season. still they managed to score a decent amount pf pointe by forcing TOs and getting offensive rebounds.

but some more offense and less defense won't cure any woes ??

looking at Kirk's playmaking and assist numbers it was the incompetence to enter structured offensive sets in time to get any proper execution from it. Another shooter going 1 on 3 won't address that matter, we have enough of those already (look under "Gordon, Ben", and to a lesser extend "Hughes, Larry")

Wasn't that before they traded Ben Wallace?

In my opinion, Beasley is more talented and is the better overall player... (not knocking Rose at all) but Bulls will probably select Rose.
