I was hoping to get a little more star quality for Rashard but oh well...  I got my back-up C, and he is a decent one...  Also, Turk isn't that big of a downgrade and will possibly fit my team better(hopefully)...  and i got an extra draft pick...  Not too sure how good it will be though, Magic is building a pretty decent team...

On a sidenote, I am still looking for a SG...

Nice trade, Magic.

thanks... I had to do this deal...

with the signings of Loren and addition of Pavel I had a number of C's... and it would just creat logjam... so I had to get rid of Cato to open some minutes...

Same here, last time I talked to Pistons I think he wanted Griffin (Although I might have you totally confused with another GM).  But yeah I would have pushed harder if I knew Shard was goin for that.

Wow...
Great trade for the Pistons.  Could not get big in free agancy, and got a very good defensive center, while getting 2 draft picks...  Turkoglu is almost equal to Rashard Lewis in skills, Lewis is only better on the inside...  Bowen is a nice backup to Mobley...

Looks like Howard and Battie are the starters in the Magic frontcourt...

What can I say...  I made it pretty clear i was looking to move him...  And it sounds pretty funny that you all are making it sound like he is the clear-cut winner in this deal...  I was hoping for more, but no one sounded too interested...  And i needed a back-up C...

Bulls: I did want Griffin, and I was willing to take back Eddie Robinson(who would have basically been a waste of a roster spot for a season)...  But oh well...

Turkoglu's ratings might be nearly the same, but he averaged 9 ppg in 30 minutes.   There's a point where ratings can't be the only thing you rate a player on.

and he only gained 1 draft pick.  he sent one out as well.

yeah, but some, like me, weren't going  hard trading wise until after free agency.

And we didn't know how dire your needs were at center until tonight.

i think you made a mistake rushing things like you did.

The thing with that is Rashard was my #1 option, I'm not even sure Magic had Turk as a top 3 option...  I wouldn't count on Turk's averages increasing that much anyways...  Terpening is gonna be getting atleast 15-20 Minutes a game(for the 1st couple of sims)...

Lewis was the primary scorer all year long...  Turkoglu was at most the 3rd option.
Lewis is better, but not that much better.  And Terpening is not terribly far behind either...  Plus, Ferry and Nash will probably be the top 2 options in Detroit, making Lewis less valuable.
The Magic, being in the East which now has alot of dominant frontcourts will now start Howard and Battie...  That frontcourt will get crushed in the East.

not really... I only lost 1 pick... anyway, it's really hard to say right now who'll be starting at my C.. but the odds are that Woods might get the nod...

battie might be dealt too... his expiring contract might come in handy...

And yet Lewis was nearly as efficient.

You think Turk would have put up 20 ppg, shooting 44% and 42%, as a #1 option?  You think he has the capability to do that?

I don't.

Not to mention, IMO turk has a bad contract.

Lewis is much better than Turk.  Lewis is much better than Terp.  And Lewis is still as good or better of a defender than both of them.

Nobody's saying the Magic are a complete team.  They weren't before the trade.  But Cato is certainly expendable, centers like him are available for the MLE every year.  As is Turk.  They needed a #2 option, which is much harder to get.

Your frontcourt situation is real weak right now, and the East has gotten real tough with all the bigs that are now there...
Howard is a great piece...  But I think you are going to really miss Cato and Haywood this year...
