Fine, Celtics are back on track

5-2 sim with actually 3 road wins (including a biggie at Miami, ahead of us in the standings, where Moncrief held MJ to 10 pts and got 24/7/6 himself. Take that, Mr. A- A- A- A C+ !!!  Very Happy)

Speaking of Sidney, leading the league with 3.5 steals per contest. Keep it up, man, you're the face of the franchise now ...

But still not sure which direction this team will go.

I love this guy.

I have no explanation whatsoever, how a B- rebounding C can average 13+rpg as he did early this season (he's down to 10+rpg now), and averaging 2.1bpg with a career high of 6 blk is also amazing.

pretty easy explaination for the rebounding. i am second currently in FG % defense. since newcomb is the only other decent rebounder he will get his share. the blocking is really amazing but my team is so bad here someone has to do the dirty work.

6-3 sim which IMO is completey amazing.  Fat was out the first 6 games and Laporte went down in game 1 after playing just 11 minutes.  Mitchell was off & on as my starting PF...fouling out quickly in a couple games and winning POTG in a couple others.  All 3 losses were to playoff teams: Cavs, Mavs & Warriors.   The losses to the Cavs & Mavs were without 2 starters.  Hopefully I won't lose too much ground with Laporte out another 54 days.

Haven't looked at the stats closely yet.  Teamwise I am still near the top in FG% and FTA.  Also enjoy a solid rebounding margin of almost +6.  Defensively my team is still in the top half of FG% and first in 3 pt%...I won't be beat from the arc it appears.

Very solid sim in the swamp. Most impressive is that my little big man was out for the majority of this one, and the majority of the next. Jonny Contract is stepping up with good D and nice rebounding rates, and rarely shooting - his personal trifecta. Mags made a nice contribution starting at the 2. Am going to have a pleasant problem when Natt comes aboard, determining PT between him, Mags and JP.

ok, so far so good.

but explain to me why the Celtics are 9-6 when we're ranked #28 in FG%, #29 in 3p% and defensively are #18 in opp fg% and #26 in opp 3p%. Sure, we are +2 in stl/to ratio compare to the opposition, but that's just 2 more possessions PER GAME and can't be enough to offset the horrid shooting. I'm clueless ...

No wonder ...

LaFrentz leads the league in scoring on .488, but your Hawks are shooting .435 as a team. So the rest of your guys must do pretty ugly there.

And you're 4th last in opp fg% and give up more than 50% on opp 3pt shooting. If not for a near league-leading low 11 topg you might in fact be worse than the Bulls.

lol, i was expecting ugly with the Sidney Green departure, but not this bad.  I'm working on some things, but there's no hope for this team, unless a few changes in the roster/setting make any difference.

Since Tom is talking non-stop about Team Stats today I decided to look mine up. 10th in oppPPG, 3rd in oppREB, 6th in oppAST, 10th in oppTO, 14th in oppFG% so could be better there, 9th in opp3PT%. Our defense isnt one of the league's best but we are holding our own after that 1-5 start.

This sim we were just OK. 4-3 record, 2-0 at home and 2-3 on the road. Only one more sim until Tyler comes on board and then I think things will turn around. Collins remains in the top-10 in PPG, and I do not regret for one moment trading George Johnson and whatever to get him. Borgmann's rebounding is impressing me despite his poor rating there.

Stats from the sim:
C: Kleine - 6.0/8.1/1.7/0.4/1.0
PF: Borgmann - 13.1/11.7/1.3/1.4/2.3
SF: Collins - 27.6/6.0/2.7/2.0; down to 2.0to
SG: Magic - 16.9/6.3/4.6/2.6; 2.3 to
PG: Evans - 18.0/5.3/10.0/2.3; 3.3to
Cliff: 6.3/6.1 in 21min
Macauley: 6.0/6.7 in 19min

Little closer look at the boxes shows some nice things: most importantly, good wins against the Cavs, Mavs and two against the Hornets. Defence is holding steady as a team, and our offence is pretty dominant atm. Record will likely balance out once the home-away end of things straighten around, but things are pretty solid for now.

you are taking 6 shots per game more than your opponents. You have about 4 rebs plus. You had a really easy schedule so far imo.

yes, the third reason explains a lot.

10 of the 13 wins came against lottery teams (but also 4 of the 9 losses), in 22 games I played just 6 teams with winning record so far. Amazing ... or should I say horrifying ?
 Cheers
