even it is just preseason and i had some injuries there were already some nice surprises: Johnny Newcomb did a great job leading this team, showing me he could be a guy you can build around in the future. He avg. 19pts 9reb 2.2 ass 1.6 stls and 1.8 ass great stats Battaile Massenburg seems to be far more skilled than i thought. in limited mins he avg. 6 pts and 1blk while shooting decent. he may have earn some PT during the regular season. James Ostertag shot 59% from the field and 72% which is really great for a C. Antonio Lenard still can score and even defend his opp. from time to time who would have thought that Mark Aguirre can score without a doubt but still not sure if he can play with dwight and shultz. he may be better suited to give scoring of the bench.

I could actually pretend to be happy with this 10-5 Clipper team that is leading it's division. But I know better. Things will change in the regular season. But even for a preseason sim I find this a bit surprising. We don't shoot any good percentages, we don't rebound too much, we don't pass all that well and blocking a shot is something we never heard of. My starting C is by far the worst starter I ever had in SSBA. Somehow, our opponents did worse! They must have really been trying out a couple of strange lineups.

As a PG, Dell Curry turns out to be a pretty good scorer. Tobey seemed to like the 4 just fine. Jose Outlaw was a little disappointing as a starter. Cliff was OK at the 3. Team defence was OK, but nothing special.
Kenny Walker will get his chance to start in the second sim, and he better be pretty good - cause Bias sure was. Will see what Cliffy can do at the four too, and what the hell, what Bradley can do at the point.

Yowsa. Ralph Sampson with 30.4 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.1 bpg on 48% shooting. He's 2nd in the league in scoring, first in free throws free throw attempts, 10th in rebounding.
Munson was a nice compilment. 17.1 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 3.1 bpg as a 3rd option. His FG% wasn't that great, but I expect that to improve. I love his free throw shooting. he averaged 8.4 attempts per game and made 80.9% of them. Sampson and Munson combined for 47.5 ppg, 21.9 rpg, 4.5 bpg and 19.3 free throw attempts. They're going to be a hard matchup.
Blackman played well. He's kinda been relegated to a role player now that he's no longer the top option, so I'm not expecting him to score 24 ppg like he did a few seasons back. But if he can score efficiently, play good defense, and not make mistakes, that's plenty with this lineup. He gave me 15.2 ppg, grabbed some boards (5.1 per game), caused some turnovers (1.7 per game), and shot efficiently (46% from the field, 41.3% from 3.
Brice the same thing. He's a non-option at this point, so I'm not expecting the 17/10 I got from him a few years back. 12.5 and 9.4, with 3.1 steals and only 2.2 turnovers fits my needs well.
Excited to see how this team does in the regular season.

John Salley with a really nice sim (14.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.1 steals, 1.6 blocks in under 30 minutes).
Bilas was nice, but with C+ defense, I'd hope for more offensively.
Pearl Washington with 14.5 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 2.5 spg from the 10th pick.
Dell Curry looked like a real nice scorer. Scott Skiles too.
Horny looks like he can pass the ball well (7.3 assists), but looks to have a little isiah in him (4.1 turnovers)

lol, so much for me being able to say "I told you so" I'd give it more than 1 preseason sim. IMO the move from your end was more the belief that Manute will be contributing for 8+ years, whereas ralph is a huge unknown. Besides, Ralf just fits my team better. I think Munson is so much of a better fit than Barkley would have. Sampson can now be the #1 undisputed option, there's no other inside threat, Munson provides excellent floor spacing, and my guards (Blackman and Brice) are both shooters. Having Munson with his shotblocking and floor shooting IMO are key. I'm interested to see how this team does.
