Nuggets trade:

Phillip Meyers

Warriors trade:

Nick Collison
Hector Strom
Brent McClendon

This deal allows the Nuggets to cover the loss of Nene.  Dealing Meyers was tough, but the Nuggs have their eyes set on replacing him via free agency.  Meyers just wasn't going to get enough PT behind Allen.

Warriors agree...

The Warriors are thrilled to bring in a player who should have been a lottery pick.  They will miss Nick Collison, but he was 4th on the depth chart at PF/C.
Nick had been talking about leaving in two years as well.

Meyers will back up JRich, and bring some great outside shooting off the bench.  He will also give the point guard position a try, ala Andre Igoudala.

He was a lottery pick, 13th. A pretty fair trade. The Nuggets gets some good frontcourt depth here. The Warriors I think though gave up a tad too much for Meyers. Or could have gotten a little bit more in return.

Collison had been on the block for a while.  He is really good scorer, but his defense leaves a bit to be desired.
To be honest, McClendon was a draft mistake...  I was going to cut him anyway before free agency began.
Strom looks good, but getting the 13th pick for  Collison and 2 2nd round picks is all  good in my book.
He gives me the outside shooting off the bench I needed with Barry gone.  And now McDyess will actually get on the court...  he gets paid way too much to be on the IR. Smile

I second that. Very even and fair trade from both sides.

Looks like you have another overpaid player to step right in and take McDyess' place on the IR in Najera.  Laughing

Hey, that is the price you have to pay to get Ben Wallace

I think you should introduce them to former Cavs Ira Newble and Eric Snow. They have a lot in common.
