Can't believe Price fell to #13

Was trying to trade to #12 to hopefully get him..

I love combo guards, and I'm hoping Curry develops the skills to become one while more importantly providing me with a long-term, cheap option at the two. I expect he will be a pretty efficient guy, and should help spread the floor for me better than Bradley does. Should help the big fellas, and *crosses fingers* should develop into a solid contributor right around the time that Schmalz and Milner start to decline. Good perimeter shooters are not always good scorers, so I'm hoping he is so inclined.

I decided this was the year that I would *study* how impactful high real potential is - since I never paid all too much attention to it before. Both Walker and now Curry have it in spades, and some other guys -who I really liked - don't.

Impossible to know what they will actually play like, but I like the looks of how both guys will fit onto my team in the present and future. Both guys have good length and look like they can play our style of game.

I always love the picks at the beginning of a draft segment, and have been pretty lucky to get 6 and 11. Now I get to watch and wonder if I botched both picks passing on Bias and Price.

3 out of the last 4 years I've draft a PG number one, but I think I finally might have got a good one.  Skiles potential is pretty good, and he can shoot.  As long as his defense and handles come along I will be happy to get him with the 18 pick.

Of the "point guards", I like Curry the both.  At 6'4" he can legitimately be a combo guard.  If his potential is true, he could be a good one.

I was unsure of Skiles/Pressley in my list.  In th eend, I decided to take a chance on someone 6'7" rather than a 6'1" PG who can't pass.  I'm completely in the dark on this one though.  Didn't scout potential on any of them, so it's very possible Pressley never cracks the rotation.  I tried to trade up to get either Curry, Price or Berry, but it just wasn't meant to be.

I would go as far as to say that Skiles potential is top 5 in the draft.  That being said, how much stock can you actually put in potential?  I still would have liked Curry or Price as I too tried to trade up.  But Skiles could end up being a poor mans Mike Evans in a few seasons.

I too feel as if I got myself a good combo guard to come off the bench (seems to be the theme for picks 11-20).

I had Hornacek 5th on my list - As far as ratings go he was one of the best available after the top 10. If he has no potential, he probably has a future playing 15 mins / game in the league and being an injury replacement. If he has potential, he's looking at maybe being one of the top bench players in the league. And he was always one of my favorite players in the league with that silky smooth shot - one of the 10 best FT shooters of all time IMO, and probably a top 25 3 pt shooter.

And hell, I'll go talk to Bods about trading him basically straight up for Barkley...

Bah Lang and Perry stunk. Lang could block a shot here or there. His biggest impact ever felt in the league was ruining Ewing's career hahaha. Interesting fact is that Lang is now a full-blown evangelist and is the Hawk's team chaplain. And I dug up some dirt on Perry and apparently he is still kicking around playing in the EBA.

Well, if you're going to force me to screw up my team for a decade like the sixers did, it's going to have to be for the full blown nostalgia package.  besides, you wouldn't trade me Vince for Zo when I took over the Nets, so I'm still bitter about that.

 Laughing

It's funny to look back that the biggest "rapes" (for lack of a better word) in trades that have happened in SSBA and in the NBA.

Some of the worst trades in the NBA are even worse than in SSBA (like say, trading HOFr Hoffa for peanuts). Maybe we should all be petitioning Stern to let SSBA Gms talk over the corresponding NBA team for a year, see how we do Thumbs Up

Happy with Price. Was kinda hoping Curry would fall to 13. But Price should be good. I just hope that the potential is true because he needs to work on his ballhandling. Smile

I was going to take Price at 6 I think....of course I didn't get to scout any potential. But still, great, great pick.

Glad to get someone that can play a little instead of a project.

Pressley looks like he could be a fine player himself with some development. Love the big guards.
