The Trailblazers select:
Juan Cunningham, C, BC

This was the first computer pick of the draft.

WHAT!?

The computer SUCKS at drafting, and IMO this was a steal for the Blazers. Cunningham has the ability to put up 15 and 10.

9 times out of 10 the computer will make a terrible pick.

THis was the other 1/10.

He could have been Lotto.

He would have been better than that PF picked 7th.

No way.  With that defense he's not near as good as hobson.

disagree 100%

Hobson- B C C- B C+ C

Cunny- B C- D+ C B- B

yeah, you're right, Cunny has the potential to get to B- or so defense, and since the Spurs are not trying to win now, Cunny wouldnt have been a bad pick.

Hobson has better outside socring (a C outside for a pf might be 3 pt range), better ballhandling and better defense.  he only has a +1 increase in rebounding.  I don't think the difference in B and C potential is enough to make up for that.

Despite what I said about the Spurs taking Hobson a little early, I do think he's a good prospect, the best pf in the draft.  He has a unique skillset of being able to score both inside and out, handle the ball, and be adequate defensively and on the boards.

Boozer was a B+ C- offensively and put up 22 ppg.  I'm wondering what a B (-1) C (+1) will do.  I'm not expecting 20 ppg, but I think he could average 15-18 ppg year in and year out.

If JC can improve his ratings up to maybe a B-, he'll be a very good starter. Not as good as Hobson, though.
