Well, the Knicks have traded their 2009 1st in their trade with Washington. Like the NBA, a team in the SSBA cannot trade two 1st rounders in back to back years. Unless the Knicks acquire a 1st in 2008 BEFORE they agree to the trade OR they acquire a 2009 pick BEFORE they agree to the trade, then they cannot complete the trade.

These are the rules as I understand them.

And I have a 2009 1st by the way of the 76ers.

I'm not positive, but I think you can't trade your own pick 2 years in a row, so that would violate the rules.

I'll check for sure tonight though.

Well, I know that in this league that I've traded my pick two years in a row. I think jem checked this out before, so I am relatively confident that as long as you have a draft pick in that year you can trade your own pick...

That is the case I think. I know FBB allows it anyway. Whether league rules prohibit it is another matter.

a long ways back i had someone else's in 2005 and i couldn't trade my 04 or 06 because i didn't have my own 2005, but that was jem's interpretation, the league is different now

Alright, I just checked.

I started a season from the 2004/2005 season (this year).

Traded my 2005 1st round pick.  Traded Iverson for the Jazz 2005 1st round pick.  Then attempted to trade my 2006 1st round pick.  It allowed.

So as long as you have a first round pick, FBB should allow it.

And I don't think Twan ever set any rules to override the program.

OK, I think that the problem with this trade may be that the pick that you got from the sixers isn't going to be listed. Your solution about trading the pick on the 1st day of the 2009 season probably isn't a good one.

I hate to say this because it affects our trade, but I don't think this trade can be go through unless you actually have the 6ers pick on your team. The 6ers aren't able to trade the 2009 pick because they don't have a pick in 2008...

This means that the draft pick the 6ers made is screwed up.

This is why "off the table" deals shouldn't be done.  Confused

He's right.  The program won't let it go through.

This trade is invalid. Pistons are on the clock.
