For the Spurs we basically used our cap space to "sign" Pettit.  And traded two draft picks for Munson.  I should have shored up my  defense (#6 shooting %) by adding two A defenders.  Also Pettit should be a welcome offensive addition who isn't expected to carry the team.

Jefferson was not getting playing time and Stocker is similar to Munson + 6 years older.  The 2 draft picks should be in the 17-20 range (possibly lower) and wouldn't have produced anyone who could have helped immediately.

two mediocre picks (i mean both the Cavs and now the Spurs won't get anywhere close to lottery land) and two washed-up vets? That's all you could get for one of the most promising big men who averages 17/10/3 with dominant defense? And throwing the best player in SSBA for the last decade in as a filler?

"man, that's embarrassing" (to say it in Pettit's words)

btw, i know my offer doesn't beat that, but first, i didn't bid for Munson and second, you started offering these guys 3 HOURS ago, how about waiting for some better offers ???
man, that could throw you back for a few seasons ...

Nuggets, why didn't you get back to me? I offered two picks for Munson alone and probably would have given more.

I feared everyone would soon realize Pettit isnt the player he was, and that he was due $67mil over the next 3 years, so getting rid of his contract that quickly without hassle was very beneficial.

and i told you to have two expirings for Pettit and was offering a young player on top. It's a bit depressing since we were talking Pettit since you got him ...

I think whats best is that everyone gets over it, stops caring about what I do, since I dont really care all too much today Alcoholic and move on. I'm at work and did everything too quickly. Big deal.

Jesus christ guys, how many times do we have to go over not to bring up private trade discussions (This coming from someone who himself was interested in Pettit)?  Let a man make his decision, get over it, and move on.  Comment on the trade that was posted, NOT any other trades.

I think pettit can still be a 20 ppg scorer.  It will need to be on a team with an outside focus, but he can still put up the points.  He has great %'s as is now.

I agree, Petit can still play, I think his scoring went down because Ransey and Buck both demand the ball quite a bit too. Munson was also putting up some scoring numbers for the Nuggs.

well, i do not believe it violates any rule or sportsmanship if you state that you did offer for a guy (it's not like i laid my offer on the table here)

I'm not sure why we would seperate ourselves from the reality here even more?
If i remember the Pistons did state EXACTLY how much they had offered the greedy Ben AFTER the Bulls nabbed him for that 60 mill offer (which in my eyes would be similar to a trade discussions thread). So what.

You negotiate, you trade, and not always everyone is happy about that. We're grown men here, and thats life.

The only problem is we play GM and we play MEDIA as well. And i do not believe there's even a fine line between negotiating GM and ripping reporter. It was the Sam Smith in me that criticized the deal he made and it was the John Paxson in me voicing his displeasure about the reasoning why this deal was rushed ...

Funny thing is that I was looking at Pettit's defense first and scoring second.  I was using PG (Walsh) as my starting SG and for the most part he was defending the position well.  But taller SGs were scoring at a decent rate against him.  Now I can use Walsh as my 3rd guard and start Pettit.

Offensively Pettit will step in as my third option behind my all-star SF and sought after PG.  I don't need for him to score 20-25 points.  I will be thrilled with the boards and steals with any scoring as cream on top.
