c'mon guys, that's ridiculous.
Jesus isn't some sort of "holy protected trademark" it's an ordinary name as well, plus an attribute of greatness.
Or otherwise i will refer to Larry Bird as the Basketball JOSEPH from now on !
btw, I'm sure HE wouldn't mind to share his name with a basketball player, since tolerance was one of his primary goals ...
In catholic circles, Tom, that is quite the coincidence. Yes, Jesus is a common name....but Jesus Risen, an easy reference to Christ's resurrection, is not. Don't know how much you know about Catholicism, but we're a guilt ridden lot and live in fear of eternal damnation when breaking commandments. It's our lot in life - and little things like that shake at our god-fearing existence - because, you never know, God might be checking the boards. And theres all that about worshiping false idols and so on and so forth....
A little tongue in cheek there, but IMO, as a god fearing catholic, this sort of thing gets my attention in some way. Just before easter? It's weird, and coincidental, and makes me go "hmmmm".
And forgive me father for I have sinned, but I did have him listed on my draft list
His defence was just too good to not consider selecting him.
