ok guys, here's the summary:
==============================================================================================
Lakers (12:15)A borderline lottery pick is what I wanted for Mr. Ramsey. His unreal ball control was good, but wasted right now. His contract is poor, so two expiring deals, one of which is a good young scorer, is a fair amount for an all-star caliber player. Four or Five lottery picks should build well around Laporte and the Lakers are ready to jump into next season as a playoff contender.
Celtics (12:28)ouch.
A washed-up vet and a one-dimensional shooter (not SCORER, mind you, with 14ppg you hardly qualify in that regard) who will be tough to resign for a fair price (despite playig no defense) for one of the top 5 PGs in the game, a 20/10 guys who DOES play defense (which seperates him from the Boblingers and Seymores who do not).
No picks (and the Sixers have PLENTY) which is the worst part of this deal.
This is a huge trade for the Sixers who get a REAL PG for the first time in like 10 seasons. I still don't see them good enough for a long playoff run, but you can do much worse than that (like resigning Short for like 10+ million ...)
Celtics (12:30)... so two expiring deals, one of which is a good young scorer, is a fair amount for an all-star caliber player ...
no, it's not. And again, Short is no scorer, he's a shooter and little else ...
Lakers (12:40)Celtics, I understood from your pm that you thought Vito was not worth as much as I "overvalued" him. I did get a pick in this deal, unlike your first post indicated, and it will land me a good player because it will be another top 15 pick. I did misspeak, maybe Short is a "shooter" but I have a team with the likes of Zack Profit and Don Laporte, I think it would be a smart move on my part to get a shooter to compliment those guys? Maybe strectching the floor is a nice change for my team, rather than pounding it inside over and over again. I will now have cap flexibility to go along with my picks. With 2 serviceable PG's in a league abundant with PG's, I think that Vito Ramsey was expendable. Why not make a change with the Lakers, the team I inherited was obviously poor and a change has to be made. I am not winning with Vito, so what if I do not win this season without him. This is a move for next season, not this season, I have no change of making the playoffs this year. This deal makes total sense to me.
I appreciate your criticism. You are a veteran GM and I am sure know the players much better than myself, but how about next time, make it constructive criticism. Not an attempt to make me second guess myself when I know my deal is right. Again, nothing against you, just disagree with you.
Celtics (12:50)Hey, don't think i'm mad because I didn't get Ramsey, it is (and was) pretty clear to me that I do not have what's necessary for a player of his calibre. This is just an "objective" analysis from my point of view, as I do see the trade.
And when I see Zack ony our team, a shooter who plays no defense, I think the last thing you need to complement him is a shooter who plays no defense. Sure Ramsey was expendable (though i think he's by far the best of your PGs, just with a hefty salary) but why not take back players you can actually use (Zach and Purvis together will get you the "lead" n opp ppg soon)
The pick was no part of the original posted deal, but good you did add him as it makes this look a bit better ... only a little bit since the Sonics just had traded for superb PG Eddie Uner and their pick will be closer to #25 than to the top 15 at seasons end.
Pacers (12:51)what an unneccessary trade by the sixers.
vito has a horrible contract ...is already 31 and makes no sense for the future at all.
the sixers gave up a good pick (even if the sonics improve it won´t be over 20) and expirings for a Pg who can be found much cheaper and younger in FA.
Lakers did a great job here.
they have now the chance to improve their roster in the offseason with 6 first rounders.. 4 possible lottos and cap space ... depends on their own players resigning.
Celtics (12:54)Unnecessary?
You are trying to make a playoff run with a far worse team than the Sixers now have, with a great PG. Neither Short nor Wells did get them anywhere and the Sonics pick is a late first, so no short-term help at all ...

vito wasn´t even the best Pg on the lakers roster. His contract and age made no sense at all for the future.
Show me one team that would spend more than a first and expirings for an aging PG.
And for the sixers it makes no sense at all. They aren´t a PO team now and won´t be in the near future without adding another scorer.

you think the salcap they would have without vito would be no help at all. And wells and short combined for over 20pts a game.
they lost depth at the wings and gained nothing.
tell me who will play now backup behing erving and mark....
you really think the 76ers would win the title with such a trade?
all they did was risking their future.
No cap and if they make the POs his pick won´t bring much help either.
Lakers (13:02)Celtics, I agree with your response post fully. The only thing I do not agree with is Uner helping the Sonics that much. That trade did concern me when this deal was first proposed a few sims ago. Now after evaluating the Sonics, I think that they will get better but only marginally. This might not be a lotto pick, but will be close.
Pacers, Thank you for the support, but I disagree that Ramsey is not the best on my roster. Ford and Newton are average but Ramsey is very good. He will help the Sixers probably get in to the playoffs but they do need a few more pieces to make a serious run. I think SixersGM knows that as well.

the sonics pick makes no difference how i see that trade.
lakers got cap relief and a pick for a guy they didn´t needed.
vito would have made sense for a team like the celtics but sixers had a good chance to continue their rebuild in the offseason. Now all of the sudden they try to make the POs. No one can convince me that move makes sense at all.
CelticsGM (14:13)the Celtics, Vito on the Celtics?
You are kidding me, right ?
