what a stupid comparison of stats  Bash. Do you really think palacio will get the same scoring avg. like short playing next to LB, Bailey and harris?
And to top it you find some defense stats to prove your point. When did basketball change to a one man show.
If short had more succes against some players that only means he is possible better at defending outside but horrible aganist drive. Could be since phelps had 12 ass from the SF position .
Also how do you count forcing TOs? Because the opp. Sf had for example 8 tOs means nothing. It could have been bad passes etc.
If you really want to compare this 2 against phelps you have to do more than just post stats.
if you also add the ass for example: phelps would have to be counted for 33points for his team against mavs.
lets do the same trick against nuggets and it could have been 38pts.

and last time i checked a pot high lotto pick is more than worth the difference you see.

Bah..first bad sim of the season. Went 2-3 but once again pretty easy win over the Hornets. It's seems like i'm having their number this season. In the first game held them to 79pts on a 41%, now to unbelivable 66pts and 30% from the floor. Shaun Livingston had a hard time against Magic, 1-10 from the field, 2pts and 5 turnovers. Weird...

hey Pacers, this whole stats comparison was a reply to this initial Mavs post:

4-3 sim for the Mavs.  I love what I saw from Jeremy Palacio.  His A/T ratio is 4 to 1.  His best game was against the Spurs, 24pts, 7ast, 7rebs and 4 stls. Thumbs Up

Making it look like Palacio (and the Mavs) had a great sim, which simply isn't the case. Nothing more I want to say.

Of course there is a difference depending on your teammates. Palacio plays next to Harris/LBJ/Munson, all three "A" defenders. He didn't have offensive focus. And he averaged 10ppg on 46% sharing no offensive responsibility. He held (weak) opponents to 14ppg on 40% and forced 3.0 TOs.

Short played next to Evans, Profit, Lundy, "A-", "C" and "B" defenders. He was forced to play on BOTH ends of the floor as #2 option. And defensively he allowed 12ppg on 39% and forced 3.6 TOs.

No matter how you turn it Short was better having more responsibility on a weaker team.
He didn' get a single start on his natural SF position for the Mavs. If he did that trade might not have happened.

And for the Nuggets side of the story: You really believe a draft pick in 2019 is worth more for a rebuilding team than a young 2nd yr player in 2016 who has good potential ? You can't even take two bad sims in a row yourself, let alone 3 losing YEARS to wait for a pick ...

so i am sure you would love it if next time you post how good your backups are and someone will post how bad they were in other situations. It is not very difficult to find stats to make someone look bad.
And still i would take palacio over short on a team like the mavs. his passing abilties makes more sense than just a shooter.
And when was the last time a pot lotto pick wasn´t a good trade option? You don´t have to wait. I am sure this pick can bring him a good player in return.

.. which it did for the Nuggets (since you usually don't get Earvins or Ervings for a possible lotto in 3 seasons)

but you are right, this got out of proportion. It's useless to value a deal after one sim and it's worse to make a player on another team look bad ... which IMO i didn't do here. I just made Short look better Wink

I still think Palacio is more valuable to my team than Short.

The West is the weaker of 2 conferences and 3 sim seasons is a long time. This isnt the real life Blazers we are talking about here. I could have 2 more lotto picks this season and some FA money that I will spend wiser than last season. I could see myself jumping into the fold of a potential #8-10 team next year then making the jump into the playoffs the year after that.
I will just continue to stay the course and see my plan work out at the end.
And by they, I can take many losing sims in a row when I am going through rebuilding. However if I was trying to a championship 2 losing sims in a row would be very tough to stomach

are you talking about the Pacers here ????
 Lol 2

no honestly, they deserve some credit. They had a huge run last season with Tanner and came as close as you can come. I thought they were finished and still they got their team to overachieve for a few seasons already.
 Cheers
And what happens this year is simply not fair, nobody deserves having to endure this shitload of injuries (that would be horrible if it happened over 2 seasons, let alone half of one). But they'll be back, i'm sure.

And who knows what could have been if not for their stubborness to hold onto washed-up English over Rocky ...

FBB can be downright evil to teams regarding injuries at times, I fully agree and have seen it on a number of occasions

Are you saying that Palacio sucks on defense or he is being out score by his opponents?
...
You forget to mention who were these All Stars Palacio defended so well:
Anderson Varejao (14ppg)
Charles Phelps (17ppg) - btw, he scored 27 pts on 40%
Mike Mitchell (13ppg)
George Johnson (11ppg)
Reggie King (6ppg)

Tom,
Dont put those losers in same basket with my baby boy Phelps  !!  Screwy Alcoholic Cheers

Sim 5 was a day late.  So Sim 6 will be on Thursday, Sm 7 Saturday, then we return to M-W-F.

I don´t care if the schedule is done right on time but at least a message that it is delayed would be nice.
Maybe i am the only one who is still interested?

I was at work from 3PM Thursday to 7 PM Friday.  That's 28 straight hours.  I'm sorry getting a message sent out wasn't the top of my priority list.
