the heat agree....my team is dying to have a solid backcourt player...now dalembert fills one spot of the backcourt...hopefully my team would do a solid job throughout the season... Laughing

hmm....i would have a raptors pick back in 2017...thus it wont be 2 consecutives right?  Laughing

this trade is a steal for the heat imo.
one first for sammy and darko who are both expiring is a pretty good deal.

you are in deep trouble if you think Samy is the answer of your BACKCOURT problems ...

But on a sidenote, while Dalembert may not be the player he once was I see him as a slight improvement over Gasol (who, lets repeat that, cost the Heat the series last playoffs). Samy will provide even less offense but he should get lots of boards on those 5-26 nights from Vince and provide good defense.
Darko had his moments too for the Nets but his inconsistency still keeps him from meaningful minutes.

Not sure why the Nets have done this, an additional pick around #25 can hardly be the reason and Gasol is pretty washed-up at age 34.

Question

your right in one thing....this wont solve ALL my backcourt problems but it is a start Smile last season... offense isnt wat i lack as i was scoring above 100ppg ...it is rebounding... even if i put a scorer in my frontcourt...he wont score a lot...coz khoury, keogan and shultz would take up all the scoring....so defense and rebounding is wat i really need...im confident with my offense...my big 3 can handle that Smile anyway..im just happy i now have 3 A defenders...which is rare...technically 4 A defenders...but daniels will be use sparingly

Actually Celtics response was directed at the fact that the backcourt is your guards.  The frontcourt is centers & forwards.  Sammy playing in the backcourt (PG/SG) is not what you are intending I hope.

Question
I did this for a couple of reasons, and the way the draft went, it backfired a wee bit....but I'm still OK with it.

First, its cap neutral for me and I get to shake a roster spot free which is handy with FA pending and the large volume of +1 year contracts I had.

I need to shake some PT for younger players - I couldn't do this in good conscience with these two (Daly and Darko) on my roster. Now Marion and Perry can play alittle bit more.

But along with that, I dont think that replacing Daly and Milicic with Gasol and Perry will mean much of a dropoff in production at that position at all, save for Daly's blocks - but even there, who knows, Mason Perry PI might excel there - he's pretty long and lean....though, I'll have to wait and see on that one. Kaman can see some time there too, so I think I'll get the right "gang contribution" to feel the pinch.

Plus, I upgrade a first next year - 5-10 slots, which means something - while picking up another first the year after - and I like to have plenty of desirable assets around to keep things moving in the direction I want, or if anything comes up. Picks, young players, expirings I consider to be those things.

FWIW, I figured my pick at 13 would end up being a big - I had Friedman/Bailey ranked right behind Macy (I never thought that Macy would end up sliding to me at 13, and he was too much value for me to not have at the top of my list.)

damn stupid deal for the heat. he gave up two lottery picks for a late 1st round pick. traded cash and trade pau for 2 players on the downside of their careers and sammy and darko. damn

OH MY! HEATGM.. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! What a bad deal for your team!

Dalembert for 2 1st rounders!? Dalembert can't even walk next year. And with how your team is playing.. you basically give 2 lottery picks for daly and darko..

and the cash..

$450 that could have bought you a brand new IPOD. Better than the one which you have right now..
