I agree to the trade.

Munson was a rather hot commodity, but I'm really deep in the frontcourt and Havlicek is a clear upgrade for me at PG.  Havlicek was only playing 20 minutes for the Mavs, and the Mavs could use Munson.  I think the trade benefits both teams, at least until 2018.

Just what BucksGM said Munson can really help my frontcourt.  Havlicek will only be a backup on my team, too bad he is not tall enough to play SG.

That pick thing won't be allowed. I tried it before.

You either trade the pick now or you don't, said Bods.

I was gonna mention something about that too...  It says in the rules that you cannot use any conditions such as swapping picks at a later date...

Well, I trust the Bucks that when the 2018 finished if I decided to exercise the option he will accept.

i am sure the celtics kings trade had also future picks included so i guess there is no need to forbid it.

^ Let me just say for the record that if a conditional pick swap wasn't allowed, I'd assent to swapping the picks right now.  And it is likely that the Mavs will have a better record than me in 2018.

But if what we did now is allowed, I agree to it as it is, or I agree to it as it needs to be fixed.

Celtics/Kings had "future considerations" added, not future picks.

I don't understand where the lack of trust is emerging from lately ?

Hey guys, make deals that can be put through completely NOW or TRUST the trade partner that whatever you agree upon will really happen later. I would definitely object that it is up to bods to enforce some "sideletter".

IMHO, in this deal here, the 2018 picks will not be exchanged now, the rest of the deal stands. It's a matter of trust between Mavs and Bucks that a swap of picks might be agreed on later, but if the bucks reject such a deal there's NO WAY this should be enforced from the league. Just bad luck on part of the Mavs then. And some big time lost reputation for the Bucks.

We have to keep the league manageable and by keeping book at what's maybe going to happen we can't ...

I caught the shaft from the GrizzliesGM and that made me understand why there should be no "conditions"...

I don't see the point in having to make wink wink deals or simply write it down as considerations.  I just don't want this deal hung up past the first sim because I've already set my depth charts and it wouldn't be fair to either party if we didn't get to play with the teams we envision from the start.

If that means nothing about this has to change, I accept.  If that means that we have to swap picks now, I accept.  If that means that we're not going to swap picks at all, I accept.  If that means Mavs and I have to wink wink, call it considerations or go on trust that the picks can be swapped, I accept.

My understanding is that Bods doesn't want to be responsible for tracking future picks or conditions.  That would add another entire level of complexity to running the league.  If 2 gms have a side deal and as long as it isn't posted then that is between them...the league is not involved.  And it can only be posted if it can be processed at a set time (next sim, sim 4, etc) in the current season.

1) I'm not allowing future considerations in the celtics/kings deal either.  If there is a deal in the future where someone is giving away a pick, I will veto that.  I discussed this with both of them.
2) There are no options on trades.

None.  Zero.  It's been that way since the beginning.  It's non-negotiable.
