Hey guys, new feature.

In the past FA has presented some problems.  People not remembering who they're bidding on.  People not giving first and last names.  People sending 18 different pm's to update bids.  So I've added a script.

Go to the main rosters page ( http://ssba.phillyarena.net ), and click on "GM Actions" at the top (it replaced the FA Resignings).  Now click on free agents.  This will be our new FA submission system.

After each day gone fa's will automatically be cleared.  You can submit offers, update offers, and cancel offers right there.  You can then update them until I have run the day.  If the player is still there, it will carry over to the next day.

It's not nearly done.  For example, right now it shows the starting salary when you click to edit an offer (which is where you'll view the details of an offer as well).  Eventually it will display each years value as well as the total.  You will also be able to see a history of offers to another player.  And on the frontpage You will see all the offers you currently have.

right now it's just a test.  It has all the potential free agents.  But give it a whirl just so we can see any bugs.

I am looking at the FA Signings page, and all of the players have varying potentials that include +s and -s (i.e. A+ potential and B- potential)

Is this the correct potential or just a bug?

Actually...as I look at it, it seems that the rebounding rating is just doubled.

Haw.  You're right.  Fixed.

And this is why we test things early Smile

Will FA this year be done like always?  Or is this new feature to be used immediately?

One also really nice feature of this thing that I've coded in is when you "update" a bid, you don't actually update that entry, you set it to inactive and create a new entry.  When you 'cancel' a bid, you don't actually delete it, you set it to inactive.  Once it's entered, nothing is ever changed or deleted.  This removes any discrepancies.  Otherwise it's possible you could submit a bid, I process it, you then come back the next day "Hey, this isn't the bid I made!  shorten the contract!".  this thing records the exact date and time a bid is made, and updated/cancelled.

Not that there's anyone here who would do that, but it's nice to have just in case.

Most likely be used immediately unless there's a glaring bug found.

BTW, don't worry if the interface blows chunks, or if it's underutilized (i.e. there are options that can/should be added).  I'm just throwing things up there quickly.

Well, there's no official limit.  But generally, limit them to 5 each so I'm not there all week doing day 1 of FA.

BTW, that PM you all got, it was a mass PM.  If you've made your decisions, ignore it.

And the last section we'll see for a bit (not counting updates to current sections).

Click on GM Actions, there's now a link for team bank.  This will display a list of team banks (with your bank bolded), and their amounts.  It will also give a list to view the log of additions and subtractions.

Why added?  Well, for one, it makes things much easier for me.  No more adding, subtracting, and upkeep.  I just enter in the team, what it's for (i.e. DC), click submit, and it will update totals for me.

But, it will also allow you to view a log of transactions, so you can see exactly what's been applied to your account.

(unfortunately, right now there's only one entry per team, which is the carry-over from the old forum post).

I'll hopefully add this years $ tomorrow.

Alright, now I've got to get to sleep.  I'm processing the end of year tomorrow.  Partly because I'm tired, and I have a ton of work, but also because there are a few GM's I'm waiting on.
