Special Point Guard Edition
Top Tier
1) Barton O'Connell - Everyone knew that this kid could play when he was dropping 10 dimes a game and blazing the net from all over the court. What no one saw coming was O'Connell's 26 PPG, including improved percentages(as if that was possible) and higher assists. When his defense improves, and it will improve, O'Connell will become the best PG that the SSBA has ever seen.
2) Maximiano Gutierrez - When a player is only 23 years old and has already improved 11 ratings since entering the league, you know he's something special. He has an incredible 6:1 assist to turnover ratio, including 10 APG, placing him 3rd in the league. His offensive game is rock solid, as is his defense. To top it all off, he still has A potential! It looks like Max will be pushing it to the max...
3) Lincoln Lord - Lord is a big PG with big offensive capabilities. Having already been to two all-star games, you would think that he's a veteran. He's the floor general for the best team in the league with a very impressive A:TO ratio, and you can't forget his 21 PPG. Toss in his B potential to the mix, and Lord will eventually become one of the league's elite...Oh yeah, that's right, he already is.
4) William Brice - And to think he could be a star SG if he wanted to. He would just rather be a star PG. Brice can do it all, from his steals on defense to his ability to drop big point totals on any given night. He still manages to keep his turnovers down to a very low amount, and he's a dead-eye 3 point shooter. Don't be surprised if he becomes a stud defender on top of all that.
Getting There
5) Richard Milner - Milner's ratings are that of an elite point guard, but his play is not. He may not be an offensive-minded player, but he simply should be scoring more. His assist numbers are not up there with the rest of them, either. Having said all of that, Milner is an incredible young talent with a great all-around game, and he's only going to get better with his A potential.
6) Vito Ramsay - Ramsay has improved with each season, especially with his assists. He is now up to 5th in the league, with an excellent 4:1 assist to turnover ratio to boot. He must be a pretty stocky guy, but maybe this gives him an advantage. He just needs some work on his scoring.
7) Harley Khoury - He is a much better scorer then you would think for someone with his ratings. In addition, Khoury is a terrific passer and a great defender. And for someone of his size, he can rebound the ball very well. If his offense improves, he'll be up there.
8) Toby Bolinger - Where did all of Bolinger's assists go this season? Compared to everyone else, his passing is extremely poor, averaging only 7 APG. He's probably just off his game right now. He hasn't lost his scoring touch, however, averaging 16 PPG on solid percentages. As soon as his assists pick up and he improves his defense, he'll be up there with the rest of them.
9) Joesph Gomes - Gomes is slowly but surely improving. His percentages, albeit still rather horrible, have picked up from his rookie season. He will likely never be much of an offensive player, but he could end up being quite the defender if his B potential comes into play.
Still Needs Work
10) Alan Reed - Reed has not improved at all since coming into the league, and his ratings are still nothing special. But his play as a starter for the Celtics this season has been pretty solid, with a very impressive 5:1 assist to turnover ratio and averaging 13 PPG on good percentages. His defense is still terrible, but it shows you that ratings don't mean everything.
11) Sandy Carter - For someone with A+ handles, or any starting PG in fact, Carter's assists and A:TO ratio are very poor. His defense is below average as well, so his game really needs work right now.
12) Malcolm Trump - Trump looks like an interesting prospect. His offensive game is very nice, including high shooting percentages, solid assists and ratio. If his defense just improves, he'll be a great PG.
13) Ricky Fisher - Fisher doesn't seem like much, playing only a backup role for the Knicks, but he just went up 4 ratings this past TC. His assist to turnover ratio looks very good, as does his scoring. He only has C potential now, but he could still improve. I think he'll turn into a very good player in a couple seasons, with some playing time.
