I absolutely hate to lose Harold Morey, who I think can become a true star in this league.

However, with Hoiberg and Bee, Morey can be replaced.  Tanner gives me a presence inside that I haven't had since Camby was in town.

Since half the league apparently was after Tanner I guess you did right. But C rebounding (7.5rpg) is not something i'd like to have on my C spot, which scared me away ...

what a bad trade. i am not saying this because i had an agreed offer for tanner. It is because he gave up one of the better defender at C for a backup who wasn´t getting a starting role on the sonics and expiring plus 2 mid lotto picks. If morey can develop like iggy did that could be okay, but remember it took iggy 7 years. Without any inside presence next to tyler the 76ers are now again the favs for the number 1 pick. I can only hope that the hard cap will bring him a big that is worth something.

not to mention that he became an option right away, if you look at his number with the bucks, its not bad at all.

as for the trade, hopefully for the Sonics Tanner plays as he did in Philly and not as he did in Atlanta.  Rebounding is an issue for Tanner but he's very versatile offensively for a 7'4 player and he can block shots very effectively.  I would tend to guess when he was on my team that he wasn't much of a weak side shot blocker though, he only blocks shots that his man puts up, that's a problem I had with him and now I believe Dampier is the same way.

I did the deal because I still felt that my team is not yet ready to compete. Tanner is surely a very good defender at his position. But Im concerned that by the time my team is ready to compete, he would not have enough strength to stand on his own two feet.

In the deal, I acquire a very promising SF and 2 promising 1st rounders. Morey adds another very versatile player to my team, along with Jonas, bolinger and tyler. I just felt that the package sonics is giving me would really help me in the long run.
