Wow, can't believe I got Klima this late in the draft, had him #1 overall on my list, he will be ROTY for sure.

Interesting.

Since the new draft format, none of the High School ballers have turned into anything.

Every year, they have very bad ratings, but that very tempting A potential.

I am curious when one of these players will develop into a star, or even a solid bench player.

True, I looked that up.

from 2010 Corey Gill is still in the league, never played a minute in 3 seasons ... and still sucks.

from 2011 2nd rd pick Shirley is gone from the league, Jackman and Shubert played 8 and 9 games so far, Wright none at all ... and all having ratings that still suck

from 2012 Solomon even played 19 games. he was the lone HS player declaring ... and his ratings suck.

So it's save to say the only reason most of these kids are still in the league is their 1st rd rookie contract. Jackman (2nd rounder) expired this seasons, he'll be gone soon too.

That said, the track record of successful highschoolers in this league is not overwhelming, the success rate around ZERO. And now we got 2 more with 1st rd contracts and an unproven young man from the german league looking similar.

With the 21st pick in the 2013 SSBA Draft the Boston Celtics select the FBCB College player of the year

from Iowa, 6'10" center, RONNIIIIIIIIEEEEEE ROOOOOOOOOF
(well, at least the player introduction will be some sort of fun now)

and will have him write the word "defense" on a blackboard at least 10.000 times to give him an idea that this word even exists (if only as a theoretical concept in his view)

So what, his ratings suck, his seems to play not a tiny bit of defense, potential is non-existent, but BOY CAN HE KICK SOME ASS ON OFFENSE !!!
 Laughing

Forget the ratings, just look at his big game performances. He led Iowa to a 13-5 record against the top50 ranked teams (thats a better record than top3 Arizona, Connecticut and Cincinnati have), he as a +/- rating of +2 compared to his team (and +11 overall), and he scores pretty much at will against everyone. And with those massive blocks performances I'm still not sure about his value on defense ...

And before you tell me, i know that "College player of the year" means nothing, just look at past award-winners: Timothy Adams and Vito Morrisson. Neither does a lot in SSBA now. But hey, this could be SHAQ, just without the defense, right down to the atrocious freethrow shooting. At #21 worth a risk to take ...
 Cool

You can bet Ronnie will get a starting assignement somewhere during the first few sims. I won't keep that diamond in the rough hidden all year, he'll get his chance ...

Celtics beating the Pacers with Ronnie haning 25/16 and 6 blocks on JO ...
... now that would make my day
 Laughing

But i didn't say i'd play an all-crap lineup, just putting Ronnie in my team for a tryout. And if teams can survive playing the Ernest Austins and Micah Hunters of these worlds extended minutes, I should be able to cover Ronnie's defensive "limitations" ...

yea i can already read the play by play script...

Roof posted Boozer, wheeled baseline, then faked three times before Boozer blocked his shot. But Roof recovered the ball, faked twice and had JO block his shot. But Roof recovered the ball once more, faked again, again and again … only to have another shot blocked by JO.

Three blocked shots on one play has to be an all-time record and after that he decided to retire and work as fitness trainer for extra large women  Wink

Ive choosed those kids to sit on IR for 3-4 seasons and see if any of them might be next superstar or at least a good bench warmer, lets see if those kids can learn anything in the upcoming few years of their contract.

That's very kind of you, Blazers.

So these kids, who will approximately be ready in 5-6 seasons, are kept in this league, don't take a roster spot from the rest of us and we can all monitor their "development" before you cut them right around the 2016 trade deadline to sign 39yr old Brad Miller for the stretch run ...

Guys, that's what I call altruistic. Shame on us for only seeking wins, wins and more wins. We should all take a deep bow ...

Your point simply differs from reality. As we found out (posted earlier) none (and i mean NOBODY) made ANY (and i mean ANY) impact and the only reason they are still in the league is their 4yr salary. As soon as that expires they are gone.
