Has anyone else noticed that the top ten FG% list is all PG, SG & SF?  Peja is listed as a PF but everyone knows he doesn't take the majority of his shots in the paint.

Is there a lack of big men who can shoot inside or is the lane dominated by defensive studs that won't allow any big man to score efficiently?  Thoughts?

maybe there are some rules who make the guards play better but i think it is more because of all the qualtiy guards in all the drafts who are great in offense but can´t really defense yet.
also JO was most of the time near 490 through the season but i changed my depth chart too often to keep him at that pace.

The average big man in the league probably shoots like 43%. That's my guess. Hell, even a lot of the big men with high inside ratings and high scoring shoot low percentages. It's absolutely ridiculous. I do not know why it's like that.

Yeah...a career 45.8% shooter (heading into this season) hitting at a 41.2% clip this year.  Poster child for the thread.   Cool

Nope.

Don't drink for 2 and half moths now. Since New Years Eve actually. Sober as a little girl.

I won't touch a bottle until summer.

I think what you're seeing is that some of the former dominant big men scorers (Duncan, Garnett, career 49% and 47.5% shooters) are now not the 27-30 ppg scorers they used to be (and, hence, not among the league leaders.

There are still some good post scorers.   Dwight's scoring 25 ppg on 45% shooting.  Jermaine's scoring 24.7 ppg on 47.7% shooting.  Elton Brand's scoring 22.8 ppg on 47.8% shooting.  And Yao's still Yao.

But the big men who were at the top of the league scoring wise (even Jermaine was a 27-28 ppg scorer for a few years) have fallen off.  But I don't think it's ridiculously hard for big men.

But big men without a diversified skillset will shoot low %'s in this league.  Interior defense is just far too good for a guy with D outside shooting to succeed.  Even look at Emeka, who's been an A- inside since the first year in this league, is only a 44% field goal shooter, and has only shot more than 43% twice in 8 seasons.  You need more than post skills.
