Hornets Trade:
Curtis Sura

Knicks Trade:
2012 1st
Roland Talbott

Knicks' cap space offsets the salary difference.

I agree.

My reasoning is that I am sick of gambling on the lottery. While I don't feel that this trade elevates me to contender status, I do gain a PG that fits great with my outside focused offense and can actually play some D (unlike almost every PG in the past 2 drafts). Although my team is far from complete, I know have quality young starters at every position.

Obviously, this trade could come back to bite me in the ass big time. However, my real need next lottery was a young PG prospect (with Wells, Diddle, Ruiz & Stocker manning the other 4 positions) and I feel that Sura is as good as anyone I would end up getting (not to mention that my last potential-filled lottery PG hasn't exactly worked as I'd hoped).

Sura is young and still has some potential and can hopefully be my mainstay at the position for years to come. His only major drawback is his C- inside, but that deficiency will be masked somewhat by the offense we run.

*I deleted the repost quote by the Knicks

I have my starter at PG for the next 10 years, and Sura was overkill, playing only 10 minutes a game. I tried moving Sura many times, and this is the best deal I could get. Hopefully my history of obtaining #1 picks holds true in this case. In any event, I don't see the pick falling past 10...

I was continually surprised at how low Sura's value was around the league. I guess top quality point guards are pretty easy to come by...

One reason is that pretty much every team has their pg and you found the right trade partner with Knicks since they neeeded one.

I think this trade is great for both teams.

The Knicks get a point guard who could be very good, and is around the same age is the rest of the team.  Everyone can develop together.

The Hornets get the opportunity to trade another high lottery pick Wink  I mean...

The Hornets have been looking to retool, and this gives them a great opportunity for a possible lottery pick next year.

Haha, it's almost a guarantee that I'll trade the pick in the middle of the season (if not sooner) and it'll end up as #1.

Well if it makes you feel any better, the pick that you traded me in the Odom deal(along with a #1 pick(Keogan)), ended up #4.
