Jazz/Wolves:
Just like last years WCF, jazz are just the better team

Mavs/Kings:
Gotta go with the Mavs on this one.  They're just so deep, and noone in the kings fc should stop nowitzki.

Magic/Bucks:
Now that the Magic are healthy, they're the much better team IMO

76ers/Nets:
see the 76ers winning this, although i'd love to be wrong.  I just thing I'll have worlds of trouble with duncan.

I agree with your West, I think you'll beat Philly, and I won't comment on my own matchup.

Nowitzki will probably cause alots of troubles but during our regualr season matchups he wasn't much of a factor. Brad Miller did fine job on him as he held him for 14 pts on 4/15 shooting in the first game, in 2nd game Dirk had best game vs me this season, 24pts, 12rebs. But still nothing big i think. 21pts and 5rebs in 3rd and 18/12 on 7/16 from the floor in the 4th game. If he's going to be able to held him in check like that i think i have a chance.

Regular season tied at 2-2.

Slid Emeka over to PF to cover Duncan.  He showed why he's the defensive player of the year.  holy shit.

wow, Kings over the Mavs. Looks like we'll be hearing about this "display of power" for a while.  Mad  Very Happy , but it looks like every series has wrapped up in 6 games or less. cant wait to see how the matchups turn out in the conf. finals. Nets-Magic and Kings-Jazz will be very interesting matchups.

The only one I'm surprised by is the Kings win over the Mavs.  I just thought that the Mavs were too deep and too good to be beat by anyone except the Nets because of their defense.  But the defending champs continue their superb post-season play.  Antonio Daniels is really underrated.  The Magic end the Bucks run early but the Bucks definitely showed that if Collier and Smith come back next season they will be a playoff team again.  The Magic/Nets matchup is a good one.  Offense verse defense.  I see the Nets taking this one.  Petit and Okafor will be a little overpowering for Ray and Dwight.  THe only thing that might give the Nets problems is Kidd and Nelson putting the clamps on Billups disrupting the Nets offensive flow.  In the West, I have to go with the champs. Until someone shows that they can stop them, why pick against them.  It should be 2 good conference finals series.

I really need to build a shrine for Emeka.

I might a couple of changes for this sim.

1) I changed the pace to very fast.  76ers have a HUGE frontcourt.  Since my primary scorers are on the perimeter, I wanted to turn this into a transition game.  so I pushed the pace to very fast.

2) in connection with move 1, I switched Emeka to my #3 option, with Chauncey as my #2, also done because I thought Emeka might have a hard time scoring with the tandem of duncan and tanner.

3) I switched Emeka to pf.  He won DPOY, and did a great job all year, plus it allowed me to let Sammy roam and swat shots.

Results?

Tim Duncan was held to 20 pts, 12.4 rebounds per game on 35% shooting!  .86 points per shot!

Terpening shot 34% and only scored 7.8 ppg.  That's incredible.  TD put up 30/13.6 on 50% shooting in the regular season.  That's 10 ppg less on 15% less.  1.3 pps compared to .86

As a team the 76ers shot 41%.  I made just about 2x as many 3's as them, and made nearly 8 more ft's/game.  outrebounded them by 6.  i did lose to's, but only by 1 per game.

as for me,
Pettit: 30.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.2 spg, 53.3% shooting, 45.8% 3pt
Billups: 20 ppg, 7.2 apg, 1.2 spg
Okafor: 14 ppg, 14.4 rpg, 6.6 bpg (!) 44% shooting
Dalembert: 10 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 2.4 bpg
Battier with 1.8 spg, 0.6 bpg, only 0.4 topg, lol.  That's incredible.
Trenton Lo was great off the bench with 7 rpg and 3.2 bpg in 25 minutes.

13.4 bpg as a team.  wow.

Me: 104.6 ppg, 54.2 rpg, 48% shooting, 44% 3pt, 73% ft
76ers: 88 ppg, 48 rpg, 41% shooting, 37% 3pt, 61% ft.

I almost had another sweep, but the Twolves showed why they were there...Garnett was player of the game 5 out of the 6 games which went with my gameplan to let Garnett get his and shut down the rest of their team. The Twolves fought hard but couldn't find an answer for AK47. I don't know what to expect with the Kings, we've been back and forth all year in the standings. I guess Booth has to shut down Brad Miller and Hughes has to keep McGrady's numbers in check for me to win this next series.

Our series was weird, with the Magic destroying me all 3 times on the road while I took 2 of 3 in Orlando.

It was ironic that I was bounced with MagicGM doing the SG/SF switch to slide Ray onto Donta Smith.  Obviously I wanted Kobe to lock onto Ray, but with hidden DCs I could only guess whether to slide Kobe myself or whether MagicGM would keep Ray at 2.

Orlando scored about 100 ppg while I was on very slow pace.  I can only wonder what would have resulted with a normal tempo.

What in the world, I had Luke Jackson going at sf and he got injured after playing one freaking minute in game 1 wow then Dirk missed one game.  Jackson being out really hurts me, since I changed my focus from inside to outside.  Bron did a good job on Tmac.  Anyway, nice win Kings and GL rest of the playoffs.

very nice series, bucks Wink

good luck next year.

I was surprised how this series went. I didn't even know how Ray would perform at the SF position, plus to the fact that I didn't even know whether Kobe will be playing SF.

Hot Bounce  Cheers  Bounce  Very Happy

" First of all let me say congrats to the Mavs on a awesome series. But most important, the whole coaching staff, the people of Sacramento, all the players and myself would like to say one big thanks to KingsGM on his vision, prophetic charisma and leadership in the lockeroom and his unmatch knowledge and feeling for the game of basketball. People were down on us the whole year and without his confidence and all the right moves he made, this would have never happened. " - Said one of the best players in the league Tracy Mcgrady in a brief talk after the game 6.

More analisis and insighfull thoughts will soon follow! Very Happy

Alright on a serious side.

I don't think this was major upset at all. We were 2-2 this season and my first unit can equaly play vs the Mavs's first. He has better frontcourt (although James & Miller were briliant so far in the playoffs), i have better backourts. And Gooden - Lebron are equal with Lebron better at scoring and Gooden better at rebounding. He's deeper but my first 2 backups Jerome Moiso and Broderick Louisetti are having a great year also.

I was surprised to see he changed his focus to outside and that might have costed him the series. With Terry and Snyder outside, Lebron at 3 and Dirk and Dampier inside that team is just built for ballanced focus.

Many do think it is an upset, except for the fact that the Mavs always seem to have a tough playoffs, even after ebing the best team in the SSBA since it's inception.

Having LeBron guard McGrady was an excellent plan, and the offensive focus on outside would have been probably effective, except for the injury to Luke Jackson.

The move of Nowitzki to center I am very curious about.
Having Nowitzki on the Kings top offensive big (Brad Miller, at PF) would have appeared to have been a good idea.
The loss of Nowtizki was devastating.  An outside offense, with the best outside shooting big in the league is a great idea...  But he is irreplaceable when injured...

Kings Vs Mavs 2nd Round Matchup;

Game 1
103:98 W. Stole the first game on the road and took home court advantage. Mcgrady started the series on a high note as he recorded 36 points and 7 boards. Others stepped up nicely with 3 guys with 17 points. Gooden had 17pts, 8rebs, James 17pts, 10 rebs and Miller with another great all round game as he collected 17pts, 4steals, 7boards and 9 asists. Marbury with 11 asists and only 1 turnover. Forced TO's: 18.

Game 2
90:111 L. The Mavs responded in strong fashion as Dirk gone for 29pts, Lebron 26/7/8 and Snyder with 23. Poor performance by my team at both ends of the floor.

Game 3
93:88 W. Home opening in winning mode. Mcgrady exploded for 43pts, 6asis,6rebs and 4steals, Brad Miller with superb 14pts, 3 blocks, 6asists and 10 rebs all round performance. Gooden chipped in with 12/8, Marbury with 10/6/4 and James with 11 boards. But it was all Mcgrady. Best game of the series.

Game 4
100:94 W. Back to back W. Dirk went down in the first Q and my whole starting lineup had strong performance. Mcgrady with 23/5/8, Miller 16/6, Marbury 18/9/5, James 17/3/9, Gooden 13/13 and Moiso contributed nicely off the bench with 9 points and 8 rebs in 25 minutes. My team was just excellent at not turning the ball as i had only 8 to's for the whole game.

Game 5
87:117 L. Blow out in Texas without Nowitzki. Terry, Jackson, Dampier, Lebron all had strong games and even Bradley went for 12pts, 12rebs and 4blocks. Not much to say, clean Mavs W.

Game 6
100:96. Another close W in Arco Arena with Dirk back. Brad Miller with game of the series as he collected 28pts, 3steals, 5asists and 8 boards. Gooden with solid 18/7, Tracy 18/9/7, Marbury 14/4/9 and Moiso 10/9. Good allround game by my team with everyone doing his job properly. Again, forced the Mavs to a 19 TO's as his backourt of James and Tarry had 10. Nice job by Steph & Tmac.

4 - 2. Series over. Bring on the Champs.
