Spurs agree.

This gives me the top offensive option I needed.  Arenas is basically the result of my sign & trade during free agency...I give up Taylor & a high first rounder.  He will be better than any FA I could have signed this year.  Dench was developing nicely but is the only player in this deal that saw playing time for me.  I also give up the top pick in this draft but should have a high one next year in the Hawks' pick.

 Crying or Very sad
I was so close to a deal with the Spurs myself. But I can't blame you, this trade is better then what I offered...

gave up more than I wanted to but with a top 3 pick in this draft I should be in pretty good shape, especially with Keogan, but we all know my history with #1 picks

Nice trade, spurs.  Yeah, giving up the pick this year hurts.  But you got by far the better pick for next year.  Essentially, you traded 1 impact player for 2 (Arenas and the pick).  And you wouldn't have had capspace anyway.

Hawks get capspace and a top pick.  Not bad, either.

Hey, I still have a chance at that #1. Don't be so sure on Arenas turning the Spurs around...

The Hawks really shouldn't have included that pick in 2010.
This is a great trade for the Spurs IMO.

I get to put Arenas in as my starting SG in place of Stackhouse ( a big improvement especially defensively) without losing any of my other key players.  And I know that the Spurs have struggled but there has been positive signs the past two or three sims.  Of my top 7 players all but one are 25 or under.  And I have two firsts in both 2010 & 2011 draft.

If I understand the trade correctly, Atlanta gave up Arenas and next year's first for expirings and a pick with which to hopefully get Keogan, who has ratings similar to Arenas.

If next year's draft class has anything, the Spurs probably got the better of the trade with the inclusion of the 2010 pick.
