A semi-dissappointing sim for the Sonics.

3-4, with weird results.

First off, the loss to the Celtics really hurts.  They clamped down and held me to under 70 points.  Ouch.

Secondly, we only lost to the Raps by 9, with Nick English finishing with a rebound short of his first career triple double and Nick Collison dropping 21/14.  Yao, also, turned the ball over 12 times!

The loss to the Blazers was tough too, I can't believe that the Blazers and Celtics (who I, by the way, joking called SSBA Finalists this year) beat me pretty handily.

Now for the good:

Beat the Rockets, behind Nick Collison (23/15), and the Pacers convincingly.

Trent Kundla is still leading the SSBA with 3.1 Steals per game.

Still above .500 (8-7), and looking for a run in sim three.[/i]

Youre almost impossible

Its ok to be dissapointed with your team(heck, i'm disapointed with my team.)

but this is only the second sim, you have a winning record, and this is the 2nd or 3rd post you've had complaining about your team, you should really come off the ledge. i dont think its that bad for your team yet Very Happy

Positives:

- Mercer bounced back from injury.  Now averaging 20/8/3 with 3 to's, he's shooting amazing (57%, 82%, 52%)

- Griffin, Hoiberg, Traylor had great weeks

- Lost some close games: 7 to the Warriors, 4 to the Pacers, 8 to the Clippers, 3 to the Pacers, 7 to the Bucks

NEGATIVES

Everything else.  Sorry about getting on my little soap box, but its just so damn frustrating.  If I was losing because of my crappy team (like in my first season) that would be cool, but getting constant injuries is really frustrating.  All I want is 2 freakin sims without one of my stars going down, thats all I ask

I didnt have my complete roster. Gino was out for 7 games.

What surprised me was the improvement of Ernest Austin, he did come up with solid games. He scored almost 10+ points for me and did come up with double double from time to time.

Alright, stats breakdown time.

The guy who played the most minutes per game for me this sim is....John Salmons.  Who contributed a measely 3.9 ppg.  I'll give him props for his 6 rpg, 1.85 assists, 1.2 steals to only 0.7 turnovers though.  Tremendous ratios.

And his defense has been STAGGERING!  Opposing starting SF's shot 38.8% against him this sim, 16.6% from downtown.  That's incredible.

Pettit was...well, what can you say?  Amazing.  30.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 3.7 apg, 2.5 spg to only 2.2 topg.  47.3% shooting, 44.4% from downtown, didn't miss a free throw.

Okafor....well, played like one of the best second banannas in the game.  Was really worried this shift to outside focus might hurt him.  Not the case.  21.5 ppg, 13.8 rpg, 2.4 apg, 3.7 bpg, 48.3% shooting.  Still can't hit a ft though (59%).  Opposing C's shot 30.2% against him.  On a per 35 minute basis:
Okafor: 19.8 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 3.4 bpg, 48% shooting
Opp C's: 8.9 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.8 bpg, 30.2% shooting.

That's domination at both ends of the court.  Sheer domination defensively.  He's working for that DPOY.  Oh yeah, and he can drop 22 ppg and grab 15 rpg.  Amazing.

Billups was great (17.7 ppg, 10.8 apg, only 2.2 topg, 44.4% shooting).  And surprisingly opposing pg's only shot 38.1% against him.

Dalembert didn't get much time (26.8 mpg).  still managed 4.1 bpg, and close to a double-double.  His per 35 minute stats were great (12.4 rpg, 11.5 rpg, 5.3 bpg).  His fouls weren't ridiculous.  I have to make sure he gets ample time.

Dial had 6.3 and 7 in 20 minutes off the bench.  That's great.  He and Lo, while not getting great minutes, have been big boosts.

Overall:
104.8 ppg (vs. 90.4)
54.7 rpg (vs. 52)
9.1 spg (vs. 7.8 )
10 bpg (vs. 4.8 )
12.7 topg (vs. 14.1)
46.8% shooting (vs. 40)
43.1% 3pt (vs. 37.1)

Very nice.

In my first sim with AI I go a mediocre 3-3.  The first game with Atlanta AI comes out and sets a new team record for points in a game with 48.  Over the 6 games he averaged 25 which is what I would want from him.  Gadz has been an absolute beast for me averaging 15/12/1 steal/3 blocks.  Gadz even held Timmy D to 17/8 in a losing effort.  Schenk continued his stellar play from the point.  Andre Igudala has actually been producing better than Tayshaun Prince off the bench which could lead to a starting lineup change there.  Also Ivan has impressed me.  2 double-doubles off the bench and he's scoring 8.5 in 17 minutes.  He could be special if his defense ever gets better.

6-2 is the best sim I've had in a long time, if not ever.

Donta Smith leading the league in FG%.
Tinsley coming up 1 board short of a triple double twice this sim.
Jason Collier putting up a few double doubles.
Jamal Sampson averaging almost 10 a game in 25 minutes.

I guess we'll see what the team's made of when I actually play on the road though.
