I agree as well
it Hurts to loose McDyess, but the chance to get a very good center with a good long term contract was too good to pass up.
Magloire is better right now than anyone i would be able to add with the 6th pick.He will add defense and rebounding to my front line instantly, and team with KMart to give me a Pretty good front line.
Its not Yao and Mihm, or SammyD and Emeka, but its pretty solid IMO.

Magloire just didn't fit in with my squad last year. He was only resigned because I knew that I would be able to deal him. McDyess is a solid scorer and rebounder who will work nice from the bench for two years.
The pick...I have a plan.

PS- I have 5.9 in cap space that should make up the difference between the 2 mil in the salaries.

Good trade for the Suns who get a solid C - as they wrote better than any available in the draft.
For the Sonics it's back to square one (well probably three) and building with youth. Now since this is the team which just weeks ago had Shaq, Smith and an abundance of great youngsters - and were about a veteran away from an extended playoff run - I wonder if it's really according to plan how this season ended for them ...

Congrats Suns, great trade. Magloire/KMart is really a very good front frontcourt and with young pg like Havlicek you should be very competitive next season

Keep in mind that I have $15 million in space plus the ability to resign Joe Smith (with his high loyalty).
My youth, plus picks 2 and 6, plus $15 million in cap space....not bad if you ask me.

It's not necessarily about quick fixes. It's the ability to add nice young players with small contracts, then striking when the time comes for a great player to fit in.

This deal really helped both teams, the sonics can continue to add young talent, that they can let grow and play together, or they can be dealt for established pieces.
and the 15 mil while it might now bring them a top flight free agent, it can allow them to take on salary of more expensive players if they chose to do so.

Like it for both squads...
The Suns get a very good center. And a Magloire/Martin frontcourt is pretty good, especially in the West...
The Sonics may pick Magloire's replacement at #6 (cough, Finley, cough) The Sonics, with Magloire, were likely looking out of the playoffs anyway next year.
But, if English, Kundla and Deng have good TC's, watch out!!!
