I'm very happy, I got an all-star PG to help try and lead this team in a push for the playoffs...I just hope I haven't dug too much of a hole...the other downside is that Daniels only has a 1 year deal

Greta trade for the Hawks...  this should help Tanner a great deal..
Nets just did not need him anymore with Payton and Watson...

This trade was actually VERY hard for me to decide on.  Probably the hardest decision I've had to make since I had to decide on drafting Telfair or Livingston in my first draft in the old league.

On the one hand, I still like the depth I have at the pg spot.  I think I should be able to plug those two guys in there and not miss a beat.

On the otherhand, Daniels was working with my team.  He was scoring more than I could hope for, and he wasn't turning the ball over.  That's really all I could ask my pg for with Pettit and Okafor initiating the offense.

There's a certain amount of risk with this trade.  My biggest goal this year is to win, not necessarily a championship, but enough to have a high win rating in the offseason for my max free agent offer.  My goal is to have the highest win rating of any team with max room.  I don't necessarily think I'm ready to win a championshp yet, I'm possibly a player, or the continued development of Okafor and Pettit, away.  But it's all about increasing the win rating while having this cap room (which I probably should have the next 3 seasons until I re-sign pettit or get a max player in fa).  So tinkering with the starting lineup halfway through the season provides some possibility of failure.

Not to mention the real reason I did the trade with the Sonics to get 3 pg's expiring this year.  It had very little to do with helping my team this year, all to do with the fa period next year.  I won't mention exactly what I'm looking to accomplish this offseason, as it still applies, it just lessens my  chances of it working to perfection with 2 fa pg's instead of 3.

But, right now the Bulls pick is a lottery pick.  Even though they're a young team, I think they're a year or two away from changing that.  There are a lot of really good teams in the East that they need to leapfrog.  With the uncertainty, who knows if it could be better.  Since my own draft picks have already been traded away, and the odds of them being good are not that high, I felt that this was one of the few ways I could improve myself via the draft, and I think it's always good to have that avenue available.

Well, Nets, that is a huge risk. Daniels was amazing for you.

I assume that Payton will be the starter now.

This was a huge risk for me also...I give up a potential lottery pick for what could be a 60 game rental because unless I somehow make the playoffs and win a series Daniels will probably walk at the end of the season
