(btw, not trying to lay a guilt trip for people not volunteering.  I'm just trying to point out why stopping the sims momentarily might be a necessity, and pointing out that the call really is pacers).

i've said it a couple of times that I would help out when needed.

The only reason I don'T overly promote myself is that for me as a "player" it's much more fun participating than taking over full control. Just like I know that success in DJSL doesn't mean too much to me because I'm holding the keys there (also possibly explaining my lack of success) I fear it would be the same here. But that's the only reason to keep my "innocence", if the league is in danger to quit of course I would do everything to keep it alive.

I don't remember exactly who it was but I believe at least 4 or 5 GMs offered help over the past couple of seasons. But maybe I was wrong ...

Quote
I don't mean to make it sound dramatic or anything, but this sim league has been a big part of our lives for years.

I know there are a lot of guys here that are passionate about this league, which is all the more reason not to panic about the long-term state of the league. If we had a league full of casual players, then it would be some cause for concern.

Being immersed in a sim league is analogous to having a favourite TV show. You're probably not going to abandon the show just because there are no new episodes for a few months.

Offer still stands. 3 sims a week on our usual schedule (Sun, Tues, Thurs) is perfectly doable for me - especially if it's just this season.

glad to hear that. so far it seems that we have enough gms who are active. it would be nice if you can take over my duties like simming, bank administration and check in. bods can send you the last sav file. if you have any question feel free to ask me or bods.

D'oh.

I'm feeling abit like Rodney Dangerfield all of a sudden....  Cool

I offered to take over as SSBA commish back when Derek stepped down and Pacers got the gig - which is part of your thinking, I suspect. And yes, I'm also LakersGM and current commish in RBSL - typically quite reliable as a simmer when interpersonal business is not at the fore.

Pacers thanks for all the hard work you put in to this league you done a great job.

I'm in the RBSL league also and I think the nets does a great job as commish. Very reliable, never had a problem with him as commish. Thanks for stepping up.

4 days and counting. Nothing from the former, old, or new commissioner.

Should we re-open "take-over-talks" again?
Who's next in line ?

I believe the Nets will be away until Thursday due to a death in his family.

I'm waiting to hear back from Nets.  The rumor (which has all been second hand) is that he's dealing with family issues.  I think there are probably more important things than an update on when SSBA will start.
