If it is just one year of simming, and noone else is up for the gig, I might be able to fit it in - now being a moderately experienced commish - though unlikely that I'd be as timely as Pacers was. I mean, my sim obsession is dying down, but I would be willing to take it one for a season if it would help.

For future reference.

The online version isn't going to be ready in the immediate future.  I've underestimated the amount of time it's going to take to complete, and overestimated the amount of free time I have.  At this point, I can't give any kind of timeline on its completion that I would feel comfortable being even close to sticking to.  It might be done by the end of the (2028 sim) year, but there's also a very real chance it wouldn't be.

We didn't seem to get all that much interest in continuing to run the sim when last season finished, and it would be unfair to ask Pacers to continue to do so.  I don't have the time to do so myself.

I honestly think it's at the point where we take some time off from SSBA for however long it takes to get the online version back up, maybe wet our appetites for online simulation basketball, and I'll send out an email when it's back and ready.  We have a fairly devoted group that if SSBA takes a 3 month sabbatical, I don't feel many GM's will lose interest.  When the online version is in a beta form, I'll also send out emails so we can test it and find out the kinks.

Of course, if someone wants to take over being commish, they're more than welcome to.  But I'm not sure a break would be the worst thing in the world either.  We've now had 23 sim years over nearly 3 real years.  That's a heckuva run.

i don't think a break in action would be the end of the world either, but i'd rather have it at the end of the season and not between preseason and regular season, when everyone is dying for some real action to start after the (usual) endless drag of the offseason.

Plus, our teams are no "seasoned" for the "standard" FBB play action. The online version might be slightly different, so we might need a couple more preseason sims to find out.

So IMO the best thing would be to complete 2028 and then wait ... and that's also almost two months closer to the release date then. I'm sure we'll find someone to sim for the rest of the season.

I agree, I think we need to keep SSBA running, if I absolutely had the time I would help out, I would be willing to chip in tho as needed if someone else was full-time and needed a day off I would be happy to help, assuming I could.

I reiterate that I am willing to sim. I do it for RBSL, and am pretty solid - a one-season commitment with no off-season is perfectly do-able for me with my work and family commitments. Just give me the word.
