I think something may need to be done.  moving swift twice because baly can't be traded is a complete bastardization of the rules.

Well, as the rules are stated, this deal works.

However, if you feel that this ruins the league, then we can wait the 60 days to deal Swift back for Baly.

It's up to you Dabods.

By the way, the Hawks agree to the deal.

In essence, Big Z and Ivan Litwack were dealt for Four first rounders, Alvin Schenk and Zarko Cabarkaba.

This year was junk anyways, and I think that the Hawks pick should be top-10.

My pick, the Spurs pick and the Hawks pick could all be top-ten.  That's a decent nucleus to add alongside Alvin Schenk, Marques Baly and Jacquez Collier.

Oh yeah, we will also be a bizgillion dollars under the cap to fill in any holes after the draft.

One more thing...the Sonics cut Trenton Hassell to make the deal work.  I will post this in the cut/signings area as well.

Yea I agree....I get a guy like Carmelo Anthony...along w/Strom and Tanner I have a very good combination of players...I'm still a few pieces away from a championship team but I think this is a good step because if Melo can improve he will be a very good player...Giving up 3 picks and Baly hurts but I think that in a few years Melo will be worth it

Well, this is a "basderdization" of the rules, yes. But it is within the rules, just like the Gary Payton thing in the real nBA.

I say, let it go through. But then, Nets, its completely your call.

It's within the rules and thus will be processed.

But I think the whole 60 day thing is going to have to be revisited.

Deals aren't split into 2 to bend around the rules in the real nba.  I'm going to have to look up the exact details on the outgoing 1 player clause.

Because right now that clause is is being used to completely undermine and circumvent the 60 day rule.  It's practically worthles at this point.

Personally, I think the 60-day rule is in effect in the real NBA to save a player after signing a contract.  If player 'A' signs with the Sixers, it is because he wants to play there, and even move to the Philadelphia area.

However, in the SSBA, there are no real players with real lives and real problems.  So moving a player (like Mo Pete) isn't a problem in this league.

Imagine if Mo Pete had to move 8 times in a year...it would be a strain on the young man.  right?

I understand that we want to maintain the rule, but maybe some slight bending isn't such a problem in the SSBA as it is in the NBA.

Just a few thoughts...I would have been happy with either ruling by Dabods.

However, I am glad to have Baly on my club.  He is huge and has A potential.  Oh yeah, he is a PF too! I don't have any on my current roster.

No, that has nothing to do with it.

If so, they wouldn't have a 60 day rule in trades, only signings.

And, as evidenced by the 1 outgoing 1 player clause, a guy like sheed can move to 3 cities within a week.

Ok, I see what you are saying.

If you want to come down harder on the rule from now on, I am behind you.  Whatever you decide, I am sure that we will all go along.

I could help this work smoother if the Sonics and Hawks are willing.

I'll trade Billy Cunningham to the Hawks for Baly and then trade Baly to the Sonics for Swift.  Only one condition, I would like my first rounder back.

Spurs, both agreed, the deal is final as-is (assuming contracts work).
