No surprise, no one signed with the lowly Pistons...  Too bad for the Hornets, what a loss...  On a side note, looks like the Knicks didn't know about the Hard Salary Cap...

well clippers took the big price and kept their main FA.
Knicks overpaid for their FA and are now over the hard cap. they will loose the best available next pick if they can?t get under the hard cap till the end of the season.

Clipps got extremely lucky...  The only way they sign Stockton is if he signs before Green and Mitchell, and that is exactly what happens...  They hit the lotto on that one...

Huge score for the Clippers, signing FA targets 1 and 1A of almost every team. I did everything I could to max my chances of landing either one of them, but no such luck. I guess the silver lining is that they went out west....and that the Hornets dynasty took quite the hit  Cool

Not too pleased that Mags left for the west either. This guy is pretty insecure - always with the moderate offers, always one of the first to sign....puts quite the dent in my plans. Big changes for the East today, actually - two top teams losing their floor generals. Ugh.

Anyways, Fortson is a solid addition for me - he's a hell of a defender and rebounder for a guard, so I like that, and he did sign a reasonable deal, so I like that too. He's typically had a decent-to-good A:TO ratio and shoots decent percentages, so right now - in this FA-gone-not-quite-right-for-the-Nets - he's my starter. Pretty excited at the thought of the defense I'll run out there with Dial/Pryz/Jordan/Fortson and Koncak/Majerle coming off the bench.

Ian Magloire followed his good buddy Danny Manning to Seattle...nice.

I landed my PG and C on day one...couldn't have asked for anything more.

As long as all 3 sign on the same day, it doesn't matter what order they're in (as long as you have roster space for it), iirc.

In one day the Hornets lose 2 of their big 3 from the last few seasons. This may significantly change the power in the East....although a one-two punch of Macy and Buck with that frontcourt is still title-contender worthy

Brought back Bill Cartwright and Paxson for some much needed defensive depth.

Happy to add Bellamy for some height at the forward positions, his D and rebounding will be important off the bench.

An MLE signing left and the Wiz are finished with their FA spending for another season.

FA is undoubtedly the most flawed part of FBB. I offered the same number of years (6), a buttload more money, have a higher win rating, and have no PGs on my roster, and somehow Stockton signs elsewhere. FBB is completely unrealistic.

But luck giveth, and luck taketh away.

I think I still have a team that will be among the best in the league. Macy can shift to PG, or I may try to trade for one. Back to the drawing board. At least I didn't lose Bol (tremendously overpaying him helped).

I knew. I just miscalculated the max salaries of my FA's. I should have put in actual figures but I got lazy. Now I gotta pay the piper.

Damn you, what do you need with a 34 year old. And you already had him for two seasons, I didn't my second season... Razz

Oh boo hoo hoo  Moon

I was lucky enough draft SAMPSON, NIQUE AND STOCKTON in THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS which directly led to TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS which almost every other gm in this league WOULD KILL FOR...

...but woe is me Razz
