Oh boo hoo hoo I was lucky enough draft SAMPSON, NIQUE AND STOCKTON in THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS which directly led to TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS which almost every other gm in this league WOULD KILL FOR... ...but woe is me Seriously? I lost the freaking MVP. I don't think I'm wallowing relative to the loss here. Just because I won a championship doesn't mean it can't suck to watch several more slip away because of FBB retardedness.

retardness? Dude...it was equally retarded that you got the 1st overall pick twice in a row. FBB is a tough mistress, and karma rules this game, just like real life.
MVPs have left in the realy NBA too...Maybe Stockton wanted to be "the guy". Tracy and Vince had a great thing going back in the day with the Raps, but Tracy left so he could be "the guy". Shaq and Kobe had a great thing going, but Kobe drove Shaq away so he could be "the guy". Isn't it retarded that Shaq and Kobe didn't stay together and win another 5 Champs?
Anyone with as much experience as you or I should be very much aware that FBB does things like this, and not at all infrequently.

I had the best odds to get those picks -- I don't see how that's retarded at all. I can't name an instance in real life where a star left for a worse team for less money in free agency, where he would be a starter on either team, can you? It's unrealistic. Just because FBB does retarded things frequently doesn't justify its retardedness. I'm sure if you lost an MVP, you'd complain too. (and I don't even think I complained that much about it: "FA is undoubtedly the most flawed part of FBB. I offered the same number of years (6), a buttload more money, have a higher win rating, and have no PGs on my roster, and somehow Stockton signs elsewhere. FBB is completely unrealistic." I don't think that rises to an unwarranted level of complaining.)

HornetsGM...
Why would you only offer 6 years to Stockton? Hels the MVP and you shortchange him a year...maybe it's no wonder why he decided to go elsewhere.

I offered him 6 years to remove any variables -- at times the CPU takes less years for some reason, even when another team offers a higher amount. I didn't want a year difference to be the variable that screwed me over. I was the better offer on every level. I doubt that Stockton was "offended" that I didn't offer him 7 years.
There's obviously an element of "randomness" built into FBB for FA, which often makes this silly outcomes possible.

Clipps got extremely lucky... The only way they sign Stockton is if he signs before Green and Mitchell, and that is exactly what happens... They hit the lotto on that one...
As long as all 3 sign on the same day, it doesn't matter what order they're in (as long as you have roster space for it), iirc. Really? I had no idea about this - I thought the order mattered and tailored some of my offers on that account. Good to know.

It's a shame I lost Fortson but I offered a realistic contract and he didn't accpet. I did only offer a 3 year deal which could have been the issue, it was for more money.
Very excited about Xavier Stockton, I have long been intrigued by the 7'4 guy with A- outside shot... I know he has never really performed but for the MLE I'll give him a shot
Jose Siegel and Stockton will sure up the 5 spot and now that Polynice is at the 4 with tarpley I have some good talent inside and 3 huys not yet in their prime (Stockton?)
Zack Profit is still out there and I need to make a decision on him... Oh the dilema!

I don't think that rises to an unwarranted level of complaining.) I def didn't mean to insinuate there was an unwarrented amount of complaining. I was just commenting on what I know to be true in FBB, and I was just a little surprised that you seemed surprised and the unrealistic aspect of FBB...imo it's always been there, and I know you are a vet of a few leagues...I just feel like I've gotten used to it and it seemed almost like your original post implied that you hadn't.

I too would have been happy with Stockton... He passed up my nearly $7 Mill 1 year deal for an MLE... Maybe it has to do with the last name???
