Has this always been the case? I seem to remember having the option to modify a post in there before....but I could be wrong. Just curious really - I understand the rationale and all if it was "turned off" - but heck, a lot of the time guys don't even quote the deal they are accepting.

It's been off for a few years (human, not sim).  This way people can't edit the first post.  If people would always quote, it wouldn't be a problem, but they don't.
