I just looked it up: at the time of the trade Hinson had played one season, 5ppg, 8rpg, 2.4bpg

...in 26 mpg.

Add to this that I was well aware of Newcomb's decent, but not mind-blowing, true potential, and the Magic's representations to me that Dwight would "retire a Magic," and second guessing the trade is idiotic. I would do it over and over again.

Back to the regularly scheduled sim 1 discussion...

4-2 sim with wins over the Nuggets (+31 - what happened?) and Warriors who I think are the biggest challengers in the west.  Both losses (each by 5) came in the first 3 days/games to Rockets and Jazz with the victory over the Nets by 18.

Nice 8.5 scoring differential and solid +6 rebounding.  Even in turnovers.  I seem to have a nice balance of team defense and team offense.  3 guys with 1 or more blocks.  4 guys with 1+ steals.  5th in opponent fg%.  Offensively 6 guys averaging over 10 points.  Leading the league in FTA.  My starting SG/SF combo averaging 44 pts, 14 reb, 2.8 stls and both are shooting over 50% from the floor.

The good:
Evan Rosow is for real.  26.2 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.9 apg as a top option.  Pettit's still a great shooter, and should be good in limited time.  Munson's playing as well as ever (17.3 ppg, 12 rpg, 3.9 bpg).

The Bad: 2 of my 5 starters aren't my actual starters, but since I didn't get my DC in, they started by virtue of the preseason sim 2 dc.  My 28 ppg, 13.2 rpg, all-league first team center was on the IR, and my starting SF, blackman, was also on the bench.  Team subsequently went 3-6.  Whoops.

Yeah.  When you go to output html, there's an option for sortable team stats.  Pacers must have accidentally unchecked that when he ran the sim.

Man, what's with the Nuggets?

I was totally planning not to post until you let the cat out of the bag. Ya, 1-5. Cliff Robinson is crap. I am not even using a fast pace and he still only plays under 23 minutes and is less effective than the big that is backing him up (Macauley)?? The Tyler trade couldnt come sooner.

Evans isnt the Evans of preseason and last year; ditto with Collins. For some reason Magic is leading the team in points. Who knows, DC changes are coming for sure.

My team is off to a 4-5 start. We are shooting very well but I don't expect that to last. Pippen and Hobson are off to a nice start. Lord is leading the league in assists but is killing me defensively.

I am going to experiment by starting Pippen at pg. Hopefully it works and i won't need to trade for a pg.

My DC was mess up with Vince Keogan a backup but we still score 100 points.  Jordan Payton is the real deal, a triple double waiting to happen.

2. I traded my first round pick

3. My team blows & I traded my first round pick

I am leaning towards three, but it could be one depending on what you traded that pick for

Nice, 5 - 2 for the Rockets..!

Zack Profit lead us in scoring as excpected, but he got a lot of help which is a huge boost.

 - Roy Tarpley is averaging 19.7ppg and 11.3rpg and is really starting to look like a leader on this team.

 - Shane Wedge is getting 15 and 8 to make it a very productive frontcourt.

 - Allen Coles is getting nearly 12ppg off the bench in only 20 minutes!

 - Adam Fortson is getting 7.1 REBOUNDS PER GAME at the SG spot and only 6'2"..!!!

 - Muggsy is dropping 11.7ppg and dishing out 9,3apg with 3.1spg.

Overall, we are shooting the ball well and playing good D. Sure we are still rebuilding, but long may this performance continue!!!

Some stats from the sim:

Phil Hubbard - is averaging 27ppg second in the league with almost 10 FTs a game.

Mark Wootten - got the first triple double of the season in the league with 14/14/10

Mike O'koren - is leading the league in minutes played with 45 minutes a game. Eek3!

Curtis Kennedy - rookie second round pick playing starter minutes with Payton out.

I am really disappointed in the Warriors...
After a 14-1 preseason 2, they come back 4-4, with Barton in the lineup...
Maybe Barton does not fit in this lineup...
