Nice 6-0 sim for the Celtics.

Beat the Heat and won at N'awlins, which is always something special.
The latest DC lineup is 11-1 over the last 2 sims and on an 11-game win streak currently.
 Very Happy

Since the Pacers are locked-in for the #1 seed in the East (they will only face 4 more teams with winning records in their 14 remaining games - and believe it or not, they only played 4 teams with winning records during their current 12 game win streak), and the Nets for #2 (just 6 more road games and won 16 of their last 17 games), the other 3 teams will play for home court. Hornets at 47-23 hold the #3 spot, Celtics at 43-23 in #4, and Bucks at 45-25 as the 5th seed. With 10 more road games the Celtics have the toughest remaining schedule.

Overall the worst we can finish is #5, and the first round opponent is almost guaranteed to be the Bucks. Gotta take what you get anyway.

Player stats from the streak to follow ...

Thanks, Tom for re-capping for me.

Nice to get a rest before the playoffs and to avoid injuries, 2-0 sim heading down the stretch is nice. **Crossing fingers for continued good health**

3-3 sim, not bad

Godin is really surprising me. His lack of defense doesn't seem to holding him back

He can speak for himself, of course, but I'm sure NuggetsGM means that he's in no danger of missing the playoffs, has some good horses left in his lineup, and expects that with Mr. Evans making his triumphant return early in playoffs (for the Nuggs second home game), that his team will be fine.

well, Evans is the Nuggets leading scorer and playmaker. Without him they are in trouble.

in the game he was injured they already lost at home to the Wizards, so expect more of that in the final 3 sims, which means they could lose homecourt advantage to half of the Eastern Conference, and maybe Mavs, Warriors too. And THEN they are in trouble, even when Evans returns, as they are not a good road team (losing big to the Heat, Mavs, Bucks, Pacers, and Spurs recently)

I think they are capable of .500 even without Mike over their final 16, which makes losing top spot in the Midwest a very tall order.

the Nuggets lead the Pacers by 2 games, the Nets and Mavs by 5.5 games, and the Warriors by 6 games.

they play 16 more games, 9 of those on the road. among the 7 home games there are dates with Nets, Celtics, Warriors, and Mavs. you think they will stay #1 or even #2 in the league?

and they will have to start Dampier at PG for all those games ... or completely rebuild the DC with Magic moving to the point and a new untested lineup trying to keep the team winning.

But hey, Evans lost out on an AllLeague 3rd team award behind Barton and Milner ...
 Cheers

I pretty much have a playoff spot all wrapped up, I hardly consider that "my season going down the drain". Home court or not, as long as I get there I feel I can be very competitive. So it doesnt bother me who jumps me in the standings, so long as my key guys are healthy for the playoffs.

And heck, if I have learned anything in my FBB career, its that having a top seed hardly guarantees you anything in the playoffs because FBB is just plain funny sometimes. So you will have to pardon me if I dont see the sky falling Mr. Chicken Little.

Keep in mind, Tom, that I'm not as obsessed as you with these things, but here goes....
Do I think they will end up 1st or 2nd in the league?
In the midwest, sure, they can - gives them home court for at least two rounds. And the west overall, same thing. If they can go .500, the Mavs have to win, what, 17 out of 19 games? Warriors too, need to win 18 of 20 or something?
No doubt (now that you force me to look at it), they have a tough schedule with 16 games in 16 nights and 9 on the road, but a quick look shows me there are at least 7 easily winnable games on their schedule - which makes that .500 look pretty attainable.
I don't see why that lineup, with or without a drastic shift, can't  win half their games. Dampier is no slouch if they opt to go that way - the past two years in a backup role, the has a 3:1 a:to ratio, and shoots good percentages. If Magic gets moved to the point and Collins to the two, that's still as good a backcourt as any in the league. Bennett can slide in anywhere.
Which gets me back to: yes, they'll be fine, and sure, awards are nice.  Cheers
