Team Cap Room

Seattle Supersonics $35,117,715  i think they will wait till next year (good picks and a lot of cap space)
New Orleans Hornets $18,840,924 big need SG(possible hughes or till next year?)
Cleveland Cavs $14,626,905 they will try to give Z a max offer or trade for him
Los Angeles Lakers $12,218,484 in need of a C (Haywood is in the range)
Los Angeles Clippers $10,137,728 need is backup everywhere and SG (hughes is possible?)
Chicago Bulls $10,082,336 solid starting 5 and backups will have next year a ton of capspace - so i think they will go for next year.
New Jersey Nets $5,346,152 biggest need is def. a SF and there are a lot of good players (most are vet) there who will sign at this price maybe mashburn, jackson etc.
Denver Nuggets $3,757,383 Sf is possible but first have to take care of miller and won´t have any cap space after that
Orlando Magic $3,222,952 SG/Sf are needs but i think they will wait till next year where cato/battie are coming of.
Milwaukee Bucks $2,967,266 not enough but maybe will try ot get decent backup C at that price.

so if i don´t value the bird rights there might not be a bidding war for many players who will command more than the MLE. the best FA who will get near max contracts are Z and Hughes. i think a decent SF will be available for the MLE and i am really curious what some vets like payton will get.
i think next year FA class will be very good and some teams are preparing for this year.Tell me your opinion.

Good work, but I don't have 10 mill in capspace, I have $600.  And how could Sonics wait until next year, they only have 4 players on they're team

Sonics - Need every position, but they cannot wait until next year.  But you are right, will likely maintain some cap space for the Amare sweepstakes.  Tinsley, Payton, or Miller might be nice this year, though...

Hornets - Larry Hughes would look real nice there...  Also, only have 5 people on the roster right now.  Need to add 7 to get up to a full roster.

Cavs - dead on again...  Possible bringing back Big Z.

Clippers - needs include another big, since Chandler is a light C.  Gordon will likely play SG...

Lakers -  right here again, although Haywood is not a great fit.  Need an offensive PF/C.  If they resign Kwame, however, cap space is gone.

Nets - SF is the requirement...  Look for some Battier interest here over Mashburn.  Offense is not required with Okafor and Pettit.

Magic - only 7 players on the roster right now...  need to get to 12, with only 3 million available.  A lot of min salary players on this roster next year.

Denver - will be out of space when they sign Miller...

sorry i took the info out of the salary info of the regular season.
and seatle is likely to offer only one year deals at the minimum and tank the season.
nets will sure take a look at battier but i think there is also a need for veteran leadership. so i took mashburn over shane.
i don´t think there will be great interest in the pg class.miller will def. be resigned by the nuggets as will tinsley. only payton, barbosa and jaric are interesting and after this really solid draft class of point guards there won´t be many teams with needs there.

Actually, I do not think Seattle will do that.

Seattle, right now, probably has the 2nd highest play Winning rating of any team in the league.  Which gives them a huge advantage with free agents who care about playing for a winner...
This year they can get free agents cheaper.. next year they would have to overpay, because that rating would drop like a rock.

Yes, but there are really only 2-3 free agents worth more than the MLE, and even they aren't superstars (exception being Z, and he's getting too old to build a team around).

Who said anything about even the MLE... Longer contracts for more total dollars, but still low contracts, might convince the players to go there over someone offering just the MLE...

i still count around 10 FA who will get more than the MLE worth or not.

There are so many teams that have short rosters but are over the cap. The MLE is going to come in very handy.
