This is somewhat of a financial move, but I also think that Natt is going to have trouble being productive in my current system.
Doleac is an excellent shooter, and I think he'll work well within the system, and will likely cost less than Natt will.

I'm also hoping that Doleac's defense will improve with a move to SG.

I fully admit that the Bucks got the better end on talent here. I wish I could have traded Natt out of the division, but I've never worried about that before.

But the bottom line is the bottom line -- there were going to have to be sacrifices with the hard cap in place. With Wilkins playing excellent ball, and Macy being the chemistry guy on offense, Natt was going to be a max deal bench player. Maybe I traded him prematurely, but the danger I faced was giving Natt a max deal and having him take another hit in TC that made him untradeable.

I think, looking to the future, this was a needed move for the Hornets.
If Natt and Wilkins were maxed, they would not have been able to resign Macy, Stockton, or Sampson  in future years due to the heard cap.

Great for the Bucks, since Natt is a a powerful force.
He was the reason that the Hornets powered through the playoffs last year, imo.

for those wondering, I needed Hornets $150 to reduce Harris's contract and make him a FA at the end of this year.  otherwise i'd probably hit the luxury tax.

Like it for the Bucks, naturally  Laughing

I seriously do like it for the Bucks, though I acknowledge its a tough spot for Hornets to be in with so much talent due so much money so soon. Doleac looks OK, but his dropoff in year two has gotta be irksome. I also think that it'll be easier to matchup with NOH now than it was yesterday. Natt on the 14-8 Bucks makes them that much more dangerous.

Ugh, I thought this might happen. Bucks, just sign the oldest FAs you can, so they're a million each.

Pacers, I apologize for the botched trade. I was hoping that it would work even though I knew that Jesus Risen was still young. I was going on the assumption that Bucks would sign $1,000,000 vets when I made my calculations for the trade, and it was at about 89%, so I thought a couple hundred thousand wouldn't affect the trade. I was wrong.

that's my fault for not signing the oldest players.

Should work now though:  I've signed Sampson, Fabrizio, Stoudemire and Strong instead.  I'll still sign Humphries after to get up to 12.

so it's

Fabrizio
Stoudemire
Strong
Sampson
Exception
Doleac
2025 1st

for

Natt
150 GM $

Bucks accept
