I'm one of those people who don't play any of their regulars. Barkley, Blackman and Brice didn't get off the bench in my 15 games. I wanted to see who in my bench I can rely on.
Lanier played well. He grabbed 8.1 boards in only 25 minutes. He didn't shoot well, but he won't be asked to once he plays with the regulars. He doesn't get many blocks or steals, so he's probably a decent (for a B- defender, at least) man-man defender in the post. I feel decent about him being a backup.
Likewise, Nick Abdur-Rahim still has a little left in the tank. For a D+ outside shooter, he did well from the line (75%), and he can still rebound the ball.
Nikolas Semjonova! 22.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, only 1.9 turnovers. 44% from the field, 39.2% from the line. He'll probably get about the same amount of time this year as he did last year (20 minutes or so), but hopefully he'll produce a little more. If he only gets 7 points in those 20 minutes, his defense becomes more of a factor. I need him in the 10-11 points per 20 minute range.
Gerstl was also capable (10,2, 5.5, 2.6), and hit from the 3 pt stripe (46.8%).
Telfair played capably. Not going to be an option (39.2%), but 11.6 points with 7.5 assists is capable from a backup point.
Hopefully what all this means is that I can play at a slightly faster pace than last year. We'll see once the season starts if that works out.

Well, I was very pleasantly surprised with my squad... 11-3 record, with Barton as a back-up. My young guards played extremely well.
Adam Fortson average 16 ppg, 6 rpg, and 6 apg from the Pg spot. A few less TO's, maybe some more assist, and he will be a very nice future PG.
Darren Rice was impressive. 16 ppg, 5 rpg, 3 apg, on 51% from the field. With very good defense as well.
Stephan Sylvester played pretty well at the PF spot, keeping TO's low, reboudning well, and hitting good percentages. But Fuqua was awesome off the bench. Can see why he is consistently a 6th man of the year guy. Macauley also played very well, and Tson can still block shots.
Oh yeah, almost forgot... Don Collins putting up 29 ppg... NICE!!!!

Very happy to see this from the very-new-look Raptors! 8-3 preseason, 6-1 at home. 8th in oPPG, which I wasn't sure I would be able to expect.
Gminski didn't respond all that well I guess to being the first option - although he put up 19/8/1.5 on an 8-3 team, so I really can't complain. Also, Buck seemed to love being the 2nd option - 23/13/1.5/1.1. Turnovers are a little high, but even so I'm going to make him option one in PS2 to see what he can do.
Wingate is playing nice backup minutes for me, and King has been doing exactly what has been expected of him. Backcourt looks fine too - just need to have Tripucka as a non-option apparently. He's jacking 3+ treys a game at 26.5%. I just threw up in a mouth a little.
Buck and Mike combined for 55/33 in a blowout. Highlight of the sim was closing on a 5 game winning streak with some good wins over good teams.

Semjonova's kinda interesting. on a per-35 minute basis, he outscored his oponent 22.3 to 16.8 (and outrebounded as well). He committed virtually no turnovers (1.93 in 36 minutes per). But he didn't force any turnovers either, and his opponents were far more efficient than he was (1.24 points per shot compared to 1.11). But then again, he played some tough competition (Jordan, Keogan). Nobody really exploded on him that shouldn't have. I'm gonna give him another shot to start with Robinson this week. His defense might not be as bad as I thought.
Abdur-Rahim's defense wasn't that bad. Opponents against him only shot 45%. He actually did better defensively than Wheat and Gerstl.

Semjonova is definitely the real deal. Better give me Blackmon, cause there's no reason to pay a backup that much.
Anyway
Kersey did a real nice job. 17/7 on very efficient scoring.
Perkins did about the same as before, only is shooting a higher percentage.
Biedrins is looking like someone that can come off the bench and give me some instant offense. It'll be tough deciding who is the 4th big man between him and Barner.
Manute needs to stop shooting, then he'll be fine. 3.4 BPG, 7th in the sim.
Anderson shot the ball efficiently, but he turned it over way too much. May need to find someone else to play SG.
All in all, a fine sim. Cant wait to see what happens when Zeke and Willis get to play.

Nick did a great job for me last year as my 4th big man. Luckily I had no major injuries but he held is own in the games he played. He just got lost in the salary cap squeeze...

I mean, i do know talent kinda sucks here, but why the fuck does all the players drafted in the last 5 or so years have to be so much turnover prone?!
I mean, really;
Benjamin 2,5tpg Toney 3,2 Floyd 3,8 Magic 3,3 Bird 3,0 Isiah 4,0 Tripucka 3,6 Jordan 3,6 Buck Williams 3,3 Stockton 3,5 Barkley 3,0 Frank Johnson 3,0 Olajuwon 3,5 Vern Fleming 3,5 Mike Evans 4,0
What the fuck? It's really annoying.

I don't consider that turnover prone for #1 or #2 wing players.

I dont mind if a guy scoring 22+ puts up 3 turnovers. Nor do I mind if a PG turns it over more than 2 per game if they are getting 10+ assists (3:1 ratio is key to me personally). The problem in general for me is the big men who average almost 3 or higher (Borgmann, Buck).

It really gets on my nerves. First i drafted Magic, who was a total turnover machine. Then i had Isiah Thomas who was even worse. Then i traded him for Bird who wasn't much better in that department. Then i got Sleepy Floyd who seems to follow Isiah's turnover footsteps and then i draft a friggin 7 foot guy who apparently confused turnovers with block shots so he's having almost 3tpg. Jesus...will it ever stop?!
