*Discuss what you hope to have happen here, then follow-up later on after the big and random event which should be tomorrow right after day 5 of free agency, iirc.

I've pretty much always had crappy TC's in this league, so I'm not expecting much - but maybe I'm due for some good old-fashioned random simulation luck.

Hoping to hold steady:
Milner, Hubbard, Schmalz, Bradley. Schmalzy had a bad TC last year, but it didn't reflect in his performance, so that outcome would be fine for the Nets. Bradley is young enough that I might hope for something alittle more encouraging: but since nothing so drastic is likely to happen that it would change my opinion of him, I just want nothing to drop (han/reb/def.)

Hoping for an upswing:
Kersey is a very good offensive player: I'd like him to emerge one way or the other - pick it up on the D/REB side, or improve on offence enough that I don't care about the rest. Mills and Tarlac and Martin have traditionally had good TC's except with me. Mills is a very good shotblocker but won't get into the pt competition unless his ratings in D and REB improve, which would be a nice boost. Koncak, I'd be very happy with a one-grade improvement per year over the next four (that would make him a very nicely rated guy), but I'd take more. Hope that Gordon and his scouted pot is low. Sanders really forces the issue for me if he improves D/REB, and so does Arizin. In fact, I hold out hope that Arizin is a pretty special guy. Any pluses (crossing fingers for IN/DEF/REB) get him right on the DC and a potentially big role if something special happens. Improvements in Woot's IN/DEF/REB make Tom eat crow - which would be fine too.

I hope to see Magic and Evans at least hold steady.

I have quite a bit of youth I would like to see progress from. Particularly, I would like to see continued development from Ed Borgmann, last year's pleasant surprise. I

also would like to get a feel for what rookie Joe Kleine's potential may be, I really hope its a positive one - at 18yrs of age he could be a big player toward the end of his rookie contract.

Would like some added offence from Xavier so I can count on him in that role.

Curious to know what The Smitch will turn out to be as well.

Hope that, at the very least, Kareem and Lavar hold steady. Would love to see them continue to develop as defensive beasts, but I dont really expect a lot from them.

If Manute could get in the Bs for rebounding that would be super. Also, Willis to go up to B+ inside and for Barner to not get worse.

Best case scenario:
Sampson, Natt, Macy -- same
Hinson, Wilkins, Stockton -- slight improvement

but I would be totally happy with a net improvement of 0.

I would like to see Rice and Fortson develop into my future starting backcourt.
Would be great if Tyson could get back to a A- def, and increase his rbeounding, but I am not holding my breath.

Any improvement by Pettit or Collins would be a bonus.
Everyone else, pretty heppy if they stay put.

Nothing. Honestly.

TC has become so predictable after x seasons in the sim universe, you start to read between the letters. And in the end, +4 might mean as little as -3, as curious as that sounds. Production wise, that is.

But of course it does matter: try trading a -3 guy for fair value ...

TC and potential in general seems to be soo random...

I've had 35 year old guys with D potential, suddenly develop for no reason.

I've also had young guns with huge potential stand still. It really is just a "suck it and see" situation.

I have FBB and I've run a few seasons from an old sim league I used to run, and if you run 2 training camps you can get completely different results and very little consistency! It's a lottery...

really quick TC breakdown since i have only 11 players:

Newcomb didn´t change at all... very disappointing since is young and had a great last year
Keogan -1 inside +1 outside +1 defense... defense is a nice plus but i had him before and i knew he was near A- anyway so maybe no big difference here.
Howard +1 handles -1 pot well that was a nice surprise that he gained a handle. i expected him too stay the same since guys as good as him keep their ratings pretty high till the retire
Aquirre +1 outside +1 defense -1 pot maybe he deserves his contract now. he will get his minutes for sure on this team.
LB -1 inside -1 handle -1 pot that is terrible. LB was already pretty bad with his handles but now C- is really a problem.
Rogers +1 outside +1 defense well at age 18 that is a nice start. still a long way to go to be a regular.
shultz +1 outisde... still an A+ defender. hope he and dwight will give me the inside and outside defense combo that i need against hornets.
lopez +1 handle -1 defense won´t make my roster next year again. what a waste of a pick.
butler +1 hanlde -1 defense -1 rebound kept his shooting which should be the best in the league again maybe even better with dwight giving him even more room.
wallace +1 handle still only 5´7 Laughing but hope he is a terror of the bench and can do some scoring for my young backup group.
quentin +1 defense still a prospekt but will get some mins this year.

well, not bad of a TC for an aging team.

Pretty much everyone stayed the same. Tyler lost some inside, Laettner defense. Both ratings are now at the level their play last season suggested. Trump, Lenard, Tornopsky and Wedge improved on offense, which is always nice.

Rookie Monroe was a bust, Perkins i'd still like to evaluate further.

And FA pickup John Duren has a good chance of getting the starting assignment, much like Trump two seasons ago.

OMG! OMG!

BEST TRAINING CAMP EVER!

Big Movers:
Rodney Drew - May have gone down to B- defense but found some rebounding! A legitamate contributer now!

Charles Oakley - Up to B inside and now has B+ defense!

Wiley Peck - Getting better with age! Now has B+ inside and B- rebounding for B+ B- C- B+ B- C

Otis Thorpe - Gained some much needed defense and at the SF spot too! now B+ C- C- B- B D

Zack Profit - Kept his A- inside and now has a lil defense at A- C+ C B- C- C

Ricky Pierce - I so nearly gave up on this guy. Now he can genuinely contirbute with  B- B C B C- C

Damien Peterson - A scrubby 2nd rounder who was C C+ C C+ D A and is now C+ B C- C+ D+ A. One or two more good camps and you never know..!

Larry Drew - Improved his handles to A- so is now  C B A- A- D+ C  and is well capable of starting

Keyon Olajuwan - Has improved his outside and defense, a 2nd round pick who I'll stick with for maybe another year... just to see. C+ B- C B+ D C

Held Steady and I like it:
Rick Mahorn - Improtantly kept his defense and rebounding at B+/A- respectively

James Ray - Kept his B inside but defense dropped to C+. Still prvides a lil depth

Allen Coles - Stayed still. Still Has B & B for scoring

Danny Vranes - Dissapointed, i wanted improvement with his A potential...

Desmond Eschmeyer - Didn't expect much but would have been nice! Smile

Jerk-faces:
Charles Phelps: Was already swaying towards starting Profit due to his lower turnoves, now ol' Charlie boy has condemned himself with a poor showing in camp!!! JERK B- B B- C C+ D

So that about sums it up!

Got some more defense in general and some inside in general which is where we'll be going this season!

ugh, very disappointing TC, I was hoping Sidney Green would propel himself into a big presence inside, but he regressed slightly.  A bunch of people getting worse only Laimbeer at Reb and Steve Johnson at defense got better.
