If the Detroit trade didn't go through then I never actually had the 20th pick to make, therefor Detroit are still on the clock.

Since you cant get the Sixers pick until 2009 (which should have never been allowed to go through), it means you don't currently have a 2009 pick, so you can't trade your 2008 pick.  The 20th pick still belongs to the Pistons.
