Haha, this just crossed my mind when we were speaking of Billy King and i immidietly thought about Tom.

So, who's who here in real NBA?

Maybe it's really a stupid thread but i find it funny.

Ok, i'll start;

Tom - Billy King : Mister first round exit, always belives in his team too much and fail to see what a miserable bunch that really is.

ClippersGM - John Paxon: sparefull, obsessed with youth, patient (capable to suck forever in order to win later)

HornetsGM - Daryl Morey. For some reason always ends up with a great perimeter player and a powerfull inside presence. Preaches defense as well, having no problems with overpayin if that's what it takes to be a contender.

Bods - Hm....Joe Dumars comes to mind. Defense & outside shooting.

BlazersGM - Larry Bird. Has no idea what he's doing.

Feel free to add!

 Ivan - Danny Ainge

btw, that Billy King analogy isn't working:
My Celtics had the best record in the East last season, and routinely make the playoffs. So let me just remind you the mighty Sixers have made the playoffs ONCE in the past 4 (FOUR) seasons. Guess you forgot that fact ...

While with the Celtics, basketball operations was a key part of his responsibilities, including the development of analytical methods and technology to enhance basketball decisions, such as the draft, trades, free agency and statistical advance scouting for the coaching staff. His hiring follows the recent Moneyball trend of moving away from scouting in favor of more statistical-based analysis. Several baseball teams have hired executives with non-traditional baseball backgrounds, but the Rockets are the first NBA team to hire a general manager in this vein.

Morey earned a BS in computer science from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2000. He teaches a course at MIT in "Analytical Sports Management."

Hmm, I'm not much of a stats guy. This might be a better fit for Bods/Tom/Nuggs, idk. I like being mentioned though  Smile

Didn't Pat Riley once was the GM of the Heat?

Well HeatGM was the 1st champ here in SSBA and got the best player ever in NBA history.
