okay we may have only 2 open teams since we could wait for trev but he missed last offseason and the whole season already and no one told me he will be back soon. i have been asked by several gms if they can take one of the open teams. maybe that would improve the chance to get new gms in??

Keep them open until you find takers. Are the openings posted on the FBB Forums?

I think the CPU should control them until we find takers. I don't think somebody should get bailed out of the mess they created by switching teams.

It's always been CPU controlled. I don't see why now should be any difference.
What should be the vote IMO is whether to allow trading with the CPU.

Only change I could see doing is having a committee make the draft picks. The cpu doesn't scout the draft very well.

Draft and resignings are the only things that could be comitteed IMO. Like, say, have 4 people make draft lists. Let's say it's for the 3rd pick. I make my draft pick like: Hakeem Jordan Stockton.
Hakeem would get a value of 3, Jordan a value of 2, and Stockton a value of 1. Add up all the player scores from the 4 lists, and the draftee with the highest total gets the pick.
The only problem would be picking the teams in the committee. i.e., last year if I picked for the Lakers it would be a conflict of interest. Maybe the bottom 4 teams in the draft?

Should be teams out of the division as well.

it is still undecided imo. i suggest that bods (no pick this year), Tom (no pick) and me make the best possible pick for the wolves and lakers. i suggest we 3 send our choices to the other gms and i will pick the guy who gets the most points. for the wolves it should be pretty easy and since Lakers are also in the top 5 picking it shouldn´t be a problem to submit your top 5 guys. If we let the cpu draft for them, the same scenario like last year could happen that after the top 5 you pick in fact 2 seeds higher. the cpu usually takes a guy who is decent but not worth a top 5 pick. or do we have some new guys before the draft. if neccessary i would wait for them.

Oh no you won't. No, no, no. I want the same oportunity like the Pistons last year. We can make this decision AFTER this draft, but not now. No way.

One thing I think is great about SSBA is that we LEARN. There have been mistakes made in how the league is run in the past, and there will be in the future. For SSBA to get better we have to learn. Last year we learned that allowing a CPU controlled team to draft is a nightmare.

LOL. That's a good one. Last year we learned that allowing a CPU controlled team to draft is a nightmare. Couldn't care less about a GM-less team. It's the matter of principal. I want the same oportunity like you had last year (re: same standards for everyone).

Couldn't care less about a GM-less team. I do. I want the same oportunity like you had last year (re: same standards for everyone). You're out of your mind. Rules change every year. We learn every year. This would not be the first time a rule has changed. In fact, I think we should officially put it to vote. Let the league decide.

Rules change every year.
Really? How come commishes made the picks few years ago but allowed the CPU to make the pick last year?! We learn every year.
Hm...smells like a cheap demagogy. You said it yourself, you knew it all along that CPU is terrible at making a decisions. So why did you allow it to make the pick last year? In fact, I think we should officially put it to vote. Let the league decide. Yes. But after this draft. Not now. Face it, without CPU you wouldn't be having a future all star PF and Hornets would've won a title without their dream PG. So, same scenarios & opportunity for everyone please. As i said, this isn't even about player X or Y (since there's isn't a much diference beetwen a scrub like Ewing or scrub like Benjamin). It's the matter of principal.
