I will pay for a Trade Exception (i.e. temp add $ to Bradley) to get this to go through. So do Bradley, Demler and Marion and 1st for Robinson, then Kersey for nobody. Since he's the only outgoing player, that will work.
do i understand that right?
you want me to include a trade exception?
If i understand it right we need 1 exception for the first part of the trade
Michael Robinson
for
Scott Demler
Matthew Marion
Dave Bradley plus exception
Pistons 2024 1st
and for the second part
nothing
for
Jerome Kersey
we don´t need a trade exception here?
why? cavs are over the cap so they can´t take a player for nothing.
i am not willing to accept that we can split now trade exceptions to make that kind of trade happen.
if you want to do it like that you have to buy 1 exception for each trade.
Unless, I'm misunderstanding, all that needs to happen here is for the trade to be processed - not entirely sure what the delay is.
Pistons/Pacers - Kersey can be sent in the original deal since Pistons are under the cap. I'm quite sure that being below the cap lifts the recently traded restriction
Players acquired in a trade have a trade restriction where they can’t be traded until 60 days have passed, unless one of the following two conditions are true:
They (the acquired player being re-traded) are the only person being sent out by their team in the trade.
The team trading that player (the acquired player being re-traded) is under the salary cap.
That eliminates that issue.
Second, it works in the checker straight up. Not even accounting for Pistons cap space.
Third, Cavs have 3 open roster spots. His team can fit a 4-1 deal.
Fourth, Pistons roster is at 8 after this trade. He signed a boatload of guys (after the deal was posted) under the correct assumption that the trade would be processed.
There is no issue with this trade.
