Here is a steal if that potential can maintain throughout his first few years.
Any other year, this guy goes top 5. But with all the centers and PGs in this draft, JDN drops like a rock.

Any other year he goes top five? As is, his ratings are average at best, if that. Potential should not be relied upon so heavily.

he should have gone much higher; Cavs, you are being ridiculous. Let's see who ends up being the better player, Terpening or Del Negro.

Yeah, any other year. This year's class was unbelievably good. Especially at PG and Center.

I somewhat agree with teh Cavs. If Del Negro had C potential, he would have falling to high 20s.

Yeah, but on a player that already has skills, potential can't be disregarded. It's not unreasonable to think Jamal will be a B, B+ offensive player with B or B+ defense when things are over. That's damned good.

Agreed. Even if he does not improve much at all, B's across the board is nothing to sneeze at... BTW
Name Pos Height Weight Age In Out Hn Df Reb Pot Lorenzo Ellis PG 6'1'' 187 22 B- B- B B C B Del Negro SF 6'7'' 254 20 B- B- D+ B- C- A
Ellis was pretty much a consensus top 5 pick. Del Negro, while not as good, is not too far off. And he has that A potential. And do not discount that he is 6'7", 254 lbs, and only 20. Built like a rock (or chubby, who knows) and a sophmore...

I still think that this is around where he should have been taken. Unless his ratings improve a tremendous amount in training camp.

I'm a fan of potential. I just don't think that he should have been taken any higher than this, contrary to what mostly everyone else thinks. I still like players with potential.
